What Are You Reading This Summer?
Many of us take advantage of the lazy days of Summer and enjoy reading in our cool air conditioned spaces. We'd love to hear about what you are reading. Would you share the titles of books you have read and enjoyed this Summer? Here's a suggestion from Lynn Theder....
-
The Last Garden in England by Julia Kelly. The story takes place in 1907, 1944 and present day at the same huge home and garden where the garden needs to be redone. The gardens of every era are mostly professional gardens. The book is available at the library.
Please send an email with your book recommendations to Judy Hayes, jkhayes70@gmail.com, with the book information. We will put your book ideas in the MMMs for all to enjoy. Thanks!

Boy, Is it Ever Quiet in the Neighborhood!
From Judy Hayes
You may have noticed that the Monday Morning Memo is shorter than normal this week....a lot shorter! That's not a bad thing, just means many EE activities are on pause through the Summer months, and it means temps are heating up, might even reach 100 degrees this week. I've been thinking, "What am I going to talk about in the MMM?" My husband replied, "Talk about not having anything to talk about....ha!"
Usually we have a lot of news for the MMM, even bursting at the seams sometimes. Maybe not a lot to talk about right now, but life is good in Esperanza Estates. We are getting the pool and spa redone; Pickleball still happens every day; Cribbage happens every Wednesday; Thirsty Thursday happens every other Thursday; early morning walks are glorious; many birds are still here and Cardinals visit nearly every day; gorgeous Saguaros are blooming; and evenings on the patio under the dark skies are quiet and restful. We are a bunch of extremely fortunate "55+'ers" here in EE. So, a shorter MMM is not a big deal....definitely a good thing.
