The Hospitality Committee will be holding our first meeting of the season on Thursday, Nov. 2nd at 10 am at the Ramada. We will be planning our 2023 -2024 calendar of monthly events and looking for ideas for our Christmas event.

If you are new to EE and are interested in working with an energetic team that hosts monthly themed events based around fun meal gatherings at the Ramada, we would love to have you join us for this meeting!

Green Valley Council

From Hugh Rhine

This month I'd like to offer an idea of what happens at the monthly Green Valley Council (GVC) meetings.

Similar to EE Board meetings, the agenda for these meetings varies only little from month to month and is received usually a week or so in advance.

The meeting opens (at 8:30am) with an invocation from a local pastor. This month it was Pastor Diane Christopher of the Valley Presbertarian Church and is followed with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Board action items typically include approval of prior month meeting minutes and approval of the monthly financial statements.

Updates then follow from the following entities.

1. PIMA County Supervisor Steve Christy

2. Green Valley Fire District by Chief Wunder

3.PIMA County Sheriff's Department by Lieutenant Courtney Rodriguez

4.Green Valley Sheriff's Auxilieary Volunteers by Commander Doug Kenyon

5.Town of Sahuarita by Mayor Tom Murphy

6. Green Valley Recreation by Scott Somers

7. Pima County Board of Supervisors District 4 Representative Tom Berezny

8. Green Valley Council Administrative Updates by David Romo

9. Green Valley Council President's update by President Kenyon

Typically the meeting will adjourn by 10:00 and in most months will be followed by a presentation of interest to Green Valley in general. This month was a presentation by Roberto Hernandez, the Amado-Green Valley Resource Center Manager for the Community Foodbank of Southern Arizona.

I will miss the next meeting that is to be held at 8:30am at the GVR Desert Hills Social Center.

At the moment EE does not have an appointed alternate GVC representative. Anyone interested should contact an EE Board member.

Spa Status Update

From Gary Rautio

The SPA water pipe issue turned out to be more of a problem than we originally thought. Our Piping-Tile Man attempted a fix of the leaky pipe last Thursday. Unfortunately, the pipe happens to bend around a corner & is mostly under the cool decking. So, after several pipe alignment attempts he gave up for the day & plans to try again on Monday. However, now the job requires the cool deck to be cut back to allow clear access to the water leak & hopefully better alignment to the pipe sections. Stay tuned, I hope to have better news soon!
