Pickelball Party and New Pickelball Sign

From John Nesavich

The Pickelball Party at the Ramada, Saturday the 19th was a roaring success! Friendships were renewed and new ones made. A Pickelball paddle, signed by Pickleball players, was presented to Kay and Charlie Bonham. Kay and Charlie are moving away from Green Valley. We will miss them and wish them good luck in their move.

The Pickelball Courts have been renamed, Max Perry Courts, in memory of former resident, Max Perry, who was very active in Esperanza Estates and was instrumental is the construction of our current new Pickleball Courts. The courts have a new sign recognizing Max for all his great contributions.

New Furniture at Shade Tree Park

From Jackie Rautio

At the EE HOA Board's request, our EE Enhancement team unanimously approved the purchase of eight new chairs for the Shade Tree Park by the pizza oven. Kevin Welsh's choice of chairs is very nice, and they look great. Shade Tree Park is next to the Pickleball Courts.Take a look if you are in the area.

Gardeners

From Mary Harp

The Gardeners will meet on Tuesday, March 29th at 9:00 am at the Ramada. New gardeners are always welcome.

Please call Rod Harp with questions, 520-329-9103.

Crafty Crafters

From Bernie Olson

The Crafty Crafters will meet this Thursday, March 31, 1 pm, at the Ramada.

This week we will be working on the no-sew quilted ornaments that we began last week. I will also bring the materials for the felted rocks that we did a few weeks ago. Bring a rock, measuring approximately 2x3, if you plan to make one.

If you missed last week, you are welcome to join us anyway. Here's the process for the quilted ornaments.....the first week we will cut our fabrics into 2 1/2 inch squares. You can purchase whatever fabric you want. Jelly roll fabrics work great because they are the right size in width. Bring a cutting mat and rotary cutter if you have them.

Supply list:

3” styrofoam ball. Can buy in packs of 6.

Flat head stick pins(will need approx) 200 per ball. They stay in the ball.

Fabric- need 3 colors. 1st color cut into 8 squares, 2nd and 3rd are cut into 16 squares each.

Ribbon for hanger if needed. Glue gun will be needed for this part.

Hope you can join us! Call Bernie with questions, 920-254-9277.

Hospitality Committee Meeting

from Robin Lockwood

The Hospitality Committee will meet on Friday, April 1, at 10 am, at the Ramada. We always welcome new members!

Hospitality Committee Is Hosting "SPRING FLING"

From Robin Lockwood

The Hospitality Committee would like to invite you to our "Spring Fling" event at the Ramada on Tuesday, April 5th. We will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs for you, and serving sides of coleslaw, beans, chips, all the fixings and a dessert. The cost for this event is $8.00, and it includes your beverages of wine, beer, soda and water.

Social hour begins at 4:30 pm, with dinner serving beginning at 5:00 pm. Be sure to save the date...we would love to have you join us!

Easter Parade, April 17

From Donna Shay

It will soon be Easter, and we are planning our Annual EE Easter Parade for Sunday, April 17, 2 pm (participants line up at 1:45). The Parade will be followed by an Easter Dessert Gathering at the Ramada for everyone....both parade participants and observers.

We've had both golf carts and alternative vehicles (motorcycles, cool cars, bicycles, etc.) in the parade. Come to think of it, a parade participant could even be a fast-walker! The point is to spread Easter Blessings and Cheer thoughout our neighborhood.

The Easter Dessert Gathering following the Parade will be a No-Host type of event....BYOB, bring a dessert to share (or not), and bring your own eating utensils. All are Welcome!!

So, start planning your festive Easter decorations for your vehicles, and your Easter duds and Easter bonnets! Mark your calendar for April 17....it will be a blast!

Food Shelf at the Ramada

From Sandy LaVoi

As always, thank you for the donations to our food shelf at the Ramada. Of course, the need for food is always present. As seasonal residents are cleaning their cuphords in preparation for departing to their Summer destinations, we appreciate donations of non-perishable unopened food. Please no donations of perishable items or those that require refrigeration. We deliver our food donations to the Community Food Bank.

Important Reminder About Parking On The Sidewalk

From Kevin Welsh, EE HOA Board

This is an important reminder to our residents...it's illegal to park anywhere that blocks the sidewalk...subject to a fine. Below are Arizona State and Pima County Statutes....

It is a violation of State law and County ordinance to park on or block an area of the sidewalk with any part of a vehicle including a trailer hitch. Violators are subject to a fine of not more than $250.

Arizona Revised Statute 28-873.

Stopping, Standing, or Parking prohibitions:

A. Except if necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or if in compliance with law or the directions of a police officer or traffic control device, a person shall not stop, stand or park a vehicle in any of the following places:

1. On a sidewalk.

2. In a private driveway if any part of the vehicle or an attachment to the vehicle, including a hitch or trailer, blocks an area of a sidewalk and impedes continuous pedestrian use of the sidewalk in a manner that is not consistent with the Americans with disabilities act as defined in section 41-1492. This paragraph does not apply if the vehicle is temporarily parked for the purposes of loading or unloading the vehicle

Pima County Ordinance, Chapter 10.40

STOPPING, STANDING, AND PARKING RESTRICTIONS

10.40.020   State provisions adopted.

The state traffic laws regulating stopping, standing, and parking apply upon all streets, highways, and alleys within the county, except in any incorporated city or town.

(Prior code § 35.32.020)

10.40.070   Violations.

   A.   Any violation of Chapter 10.40 shall be a civil traffic violation.

   B.   Any person found responsible for violating any provision of Chapter 10.40 shall be fined not more than $250 for each violation.

(Ord. 2018-25 § 1 (part), 2018)

Monday Morning Memo Has a New Helper!

From Judy Hayes

I am thrilled that John Nesavich has gratiously volunteered to help with preparing the Monday Morning Memo. Initially, John is learning Constant Contact, the app we use to publish the MMM. He's a quick study, and soon he'll be editing content along with me. I also want to give a shout-out to Lynn Theder, our proofreader, and Linda Sielken, who posts the MMM at the Ramada and delivers copies to a few residents. Greatly appreciate everyone's help!
