This presentation will have information important for people who do not realize the services that are available to the senior population.

Information will include services by Senior Helpers and also other services that are available here in Green Valley.

There will also be a VA claims agent speaking about services available to veterans.

You would be amazed about the services vets and their spouses do not know are available to them.

There will be pizza provided. Bring your own beverage.

Enhancement Team Fundraiser a Success

From: Jody Hauge

Many residents and friends participated in the Enhancement Team’s major annual fundraiser held on Friday the 13th. With a “March Madness” theme, the event brought energy and friendly competition, especially during the bidding.

The Silent Auction, Dessert Buffet, and Quilt Auction raised $3,893. Proceeds will be used to support ongoing enhancements within the Esperanza Estates community.

We sincerely thank everyone who donated auction items, purchased quilt raffle tickets, and attended the event to enjoy the desserts and participate in the bidding. Your presence and support were essential to the event’s success.

A special thank you to the Enhancement Team and community members who contributed the delicious desserts.

We also extend our appreciation to co-chairs Roberta Bower and Kay Larson for their leadership and dedication in organizing this event. Thanks to Deborah Wright and her committee for coordinating the quilt auction and to Robin Lockwood for leading the dessert buffet. Finally, we thank all team members who assisted with decorating, serving, financial management, cleanup, and the many details that made this event a success.

Good to Know

Green Valley Council Update

From: Hugh Rhine, GVC Representative

The March GVC Board of Representatives meeting had a few items of general interest to EE residents.

Firstly, the previously noted petition regarding the AZ legislature being encouraged to make changes to deal with Title Fraud. I will be picking up the EE petitions from the Ramada on March 26 and returning them to the GVC office.

Secondly, I found it interesting that the current GVR election of board members is expecting to receive in the area of 3,000 votes. There are about 13,900 GVR restricted properties in GV.

Thirdly, Natalie Shapp of the Pima County Environmental Department provided information on air quality and monitoring. You can go to AirQualityNow.gov and download an Air quality app.

Finally, the GVC speed sign is to be installed on Holgado and will remain in place for three weeks. There was enhanced enforcement on Portillo on Thursday. I observed two cars being stopped while I was on my way to the GVC BOR meeting.
