New Balls Missing

Attention Pickleball Players....We have had four of our new balls taken again. After last week's message all were returned. But on Thursday, one was missing again, and on Saturday, three more were missing. If you bring your own for pickleball, maybe you have taken these by mistake.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Pool Remains Closed

From Gary Rautio

Sorry to report that the pool will remain closed for yet another week. Our repair company, Coverstar, reported that the part needed has been delayed and the current best guess before repairs can be done is the week of January 15th. Thank you for your patience, stay tuned for any updates.

Gardeners

From Mary Harp

The Gardeners will meet at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 9th, at the EE Pool (next to the Ramada).  Bring tools for weeding, pruning, and clean-up. New members are always welcome to join us. Feel free to call Rod Harp at 520.329.9103 with any questions.

EE Book Club

From Hugh Rhine

Our next EE Book Club meeting will be this Thursday, January 11, 11 am, at the Ramada. Everyone is welcome. We hope you will join us!

Our book selection for January is Fallen Leaves by Will Durant. Durant, likely in collabration with his wife, Ariel, offers his insights on a vast selection of issues of interest such as morals, sex, war, politics and art, including his conclusions about the problems and joys we face as a species. In his 60 yrs of research and writing Durant was a Pulitzer Prize winning author and historian known for his 11 volume "Story of Civilization."

This book, written mostly in the 10 years before his death in 1981, was inspired by "curious readers who have challenged me to speak my mind on the timeless questions of human life and fate." Curiously, it was lost until discovered by his grand daughter thirty-two years after his death.

Enhancement Team Collection of Items for Ramada Sale

From Gloria Creagh (920) 323-1646

Are you cleaning and want to know what to do with your unwanted treasures? Your Esperanza Estates Enhancement Team will gladly take them and add to items for our next Ramada Sale! When we collect enough items we will again have our sale, which earns money to make improvements to our Home Owners Association. It’s a win-win!

The shed next to the pickleball court will be open and have volunteers to assist you THE SECOND WEDNESDAY of each month; from 9:00am to 12:00pm. See you this Wednesday, January 10th. Pease note, we don’t accept large furniture TVs, or technology items.

A few items the Enhancement Committee has purchased through the years include:

  • larger coffee pot for Ramada social event
  • heaters for the Ramada
  • chairs for the pickleball court and the swimming pool areas
  • golf cart for the Gardener’s
  • purchasing bricks for the Ramada wall between the sidewalk and the Ramada.

Future collections will be the second Wednesday of the month between 9:00-noon. Bring your unwanted items to the shed at the pickleball court. The Enhancement Committee thanks you!

Yoga Classes At EE

From Patty Adler, 303-570-3159

Patty Adler would like to get a head count of people interested in attending her Hatha (on the mat) yoga class when the weather warms.

If interested please give Patty a call at 303-570-3159.

Eighteen students attended the chair yoga at the Ramada this week. Word is out on the many benefits of yoga. It isn’t just for women. We did have some male students. Stretching and balance is for everyone! All the classes for EE residents are free.
