EEHOA Board of Directors Election....We Want Your Vote!!
From Ken Lindeman, EEHOA Board Secretary (970-232-4129)
Don't forget to vote in the EE Board of Directors election. If you have not received a ballot, please contact Ken Lindeman. All ballots must be received at PO Box 181 or at the mail box in the Ramada no later than January 8, 2024. It's important to read the voting instructions enclosed with your ballot. There is only one ballot, one vote, per property. Bio's for each candidate can be accessed at Board Candidate Statements.
As of December 28, 2023, your volunteer secretary had received only 42% of ballets delivered to 100% of EEHOA property owners. As a volunteer, I have never complained about work that produces results. Preparing 350 ballot packets requires a lot of work. Having volunteers delivering packets requires additional time. The results, ballots returned, are showing that our extra volunteer efforts are not producing results that our efforts should be producing. I will be recommending to the Board that we build voting packets and deliver voting packets to people that have shown interest in participating in the voting process. A quorum is not required for Director voting. If you are interested in receiving a ballot next year, and haven’t voted yet this year, please get your vote in for this years election by January 8th, 2024.

Pickleball Players
Source: Greg Gramstad
We are testing a new ball and two have gone missing.
I ask if you have played in the last few days and have hit a ball out of the court, please retrieve the ball at that time. One ball has been found in a bush and two are still missing. Sometimes players have put a ball in their pocket and have forgotten to leave it on the court. Please return it if this has happened to you. Thank you in advance for your help.

Thirsty Thursday is This Week!!
We're having Thirsty Thursday, Esperanza Estates' Happy Hour, this week on Thursday, January 4, at 4 pm at the Ramada. From Kevin Welsh
The EE Pool continues to be closed, but the Spa/Hot Tub is open. The Technician from Coverstar (pool cover repair company) has been here and confirmed a broken shaft. They will have an update for us next week with an estimate of cost and date to repair.
Please do not attempt to use the pool while it is closed. Residents are welcome to use the spa/hot tub.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience.

Orphan's Christmas Dinner Serves Over 50 Folks
The EE Orphan's Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day at the Ramada was a huge success. This outstanding event is organized by EE residents, Connie Scorza and Lynn Noble, with their helpers, Karen Killebrew, Barb Peterson, and Ron Eldridge. Also, several others helped with setup, serving, etc., and everyone that attended contributed food. This is the second year they held the dinner, and over 50 folks attended.
Here are Doug Syme's comments about the event...
On Christmas Day some fifty people enjoyed a Festive Gathering at the Ramada. The selection of food was mouthwatering and copious! Thank you to Connie Scorza and Lynn Noble for organizing the event and to all the cooks for their contributions.
Sorry, we neglected to get pictures of the Dinner this year. Just picture happy people enjoying delicious food and having a festive time....thanks to everyone who helped make this Christmas Dinner a great success!

New Year’s Resolutions 2024
Source: Forbes Health, Dec 18, 2023
The New Year is a time when many of us make New Year's resolutions and set new goals to commit to better habits. But, do we keep them? What happens when the energy of the New Year wears off—and how many of our New Year’s resolutions "fall by the wayside"?
Forbes Health conducted some interesting research in October 2023 among 1000 US adults to determine what types of goals they set, and by whom, as well as what the research results say about the likelihood of those intentions turning into reality.
The graph below from the research gives an overview of the top New Year's resolutions. Click on the article, "New Year's Resolutions Statistics 2024" to read more interesting information about the Forbes study.
