Patio Pavers
From Cyndie Alto
Let's repurpose our no longer needed patio pavers! Yes...those bricks that have been stacked up in our garages for years, or the out-going ones that will be replaced with upcoming landscape projects.
Call Tom Aigner, 720-518-9505, from the Esperanza Estates "Rock Monkeys," and they will collect them and store them behind the garage.
As the pavers come in over the next few years, our plan is to pave that narrow strip next to the street, where the lamp posts are (see photos). Currently the small stones in those areas can present safety issues, as we all have seen while walking along the sidewalks. In addition to the safety concern, this will be a great upgrade to our neighborhood!

Afternoon Water Aerobics is Back!!
From Penny Huculak, Zell Higgins, Robin Lockwood and Marce Pross
Please join us as we start up Afternoon Water Aerobics again, beginning Monday, January 27th at 2 pm in the pool. This wonderful activity is fun and low impact. The session will begin with a 20 minute warm up in the shallow end to get your heart rate going, followed by a 20 minute session of stretching, core strengthening and resistance work using Aquatic Dumbbells in the deep end (or shallow if you choose). We will end with a 20 minute wind-down section back in the shallow end for arm strength and muscle relaxation. Classes will be held on Monday, Wednesdays and Thursdays, weather dependent, beginning on the 27th.
The top benefits of aqua aerobics
- Water supports the body, putting less stress on your joints and muscles
- Working out in water helps build strength. Fighting against the push of the water activates your muscles
- Water pressure helps put less strain on the heart by moving blood around the body
- The impact of gravity is less in the water allowing a greater range of motion
- Working out in water helps prevent overheating, helping you exercise for longer
- And… it’s fun! It is not often you can say that about a workout.
We hope you can join us for a fun way to exercise and some great camaraderie!

Arts and Crafts Group
From Janet Shown
The EE Arts and Crafts group doodled their way to a colorful ending in the last class of Doodle Art taught by Susanne Phillips. Participants got to try out different kinds of colored pencils and learn about blending and layering within doodled sections. We are grateful to Susanne for her skillful and patient methods of sharing her artistic knowledge and talent.
Next up: pine needle basketry taught by Gary Terslinger February 4th and 18th. The class is full with 12 people registered. Confirmed participants who have not yet paid for their supplies or chosen their agate slice and glued it to the vinyl backing may contact Janet Shown at 720-749-0273 or jansho@yahoo.com. All supplies will be brought to the first meeting.
An upcoming project will be creating totems made from glass or ceramics, so interested people should start collecting items for their totem. Think crystal glasses, serving items, and stemware, teacups and saucers, figurines and vases, or other eye-catching items. For more information, contact Janet Shown.

I was in line at the emergency room when a man came in with a bucket on his head.
I let him go before me as he looked a bit pail.
If mediums can communicate with the dead imagine what a large can do.
