We're having Thirsty Thursday, Esperanza Estates' Happy Hour, this week on Thursday, January 18, at 4 pm at the Ramada. As usual, this is a no-host event, so everyone brings their own beverages and a snack to share, but it's not necessary to bring food. Attention Artists, Crafters, Bakers, and Donators...

Silent Auction and Dessert Buffet, March 6

From Jody Hauge, Enhancement Committee

The Enhancement Committee has chosen the Silent Auction and Dessert Buffet as their big fundraiser for 2024. The date is set for Wednesday, March 6 starting at 1:00 pm and ending at 3:00. The silent auction will be open until 2:30 pm.

The desserts will include a variety of yummy treats and the tickets will be sold for $5.00 per person and you can choose three desserts. Those wishing to donate desserts are asked to bring desserts to the Ramada at 11:00 am or arrange for one of the committee members to pick them up. Please do not cut them into serving sizes. If you are planning to provide a dessert or have any questions on the dessert buffet please contact Jackie Rautio at 602-206-3354.

We received wonderful donations last year and are excited about the fun we had with the Silent Auction. Last year we had many Artists and Crafters donate items for the event, had lovely baskets donated, and even had experiences like facials or personal trainers. We have so much talent in our neighborhood to draw from and so many generous individuals. If you wish to donate to the silent auction or have any questions please contact Cyndy Gates at 623-882-5104, Cindy Jones at 605-830-0525, Jody Hauge at 701-226-0022, or Claudia Rose at 651-332-0860. The fundraiser is open to the Esperanza Estate community and their guests.

EE Book Club

From Hugh Rhine and Linda Sielken

Next month's EE Book Club meeting will be February 8, 11 am, at the Ramada. Our book selection for February is The Mitford Affair by Marie Benedict, and the discussion will be lead by Roberta Bower.

Goodreads comments: "Between the World Wars, the six Mitford sisters dominate the English political, literary, and social scenes. Though they've weathered scandals before, the family falls into disarray when Diana divorces her husband to marry a fascist leader and Unity follows her sister's lead, inciting rumors that she's become Hitler's own mistress."

Any Bridge Players?

From Donna Dailey

River Rocks Needed

We would like to welcome, and thank Jeff Ries as our newest Rock Monkey volunteer, as we continue the Regalo Pathway Project in 2024.

The Spa is remaining open as we continue to report on the pool closure. Hopefully our repair company will be on site on Monday to repair the pool operations by installing a bolt to allow the motor to remove/close the cover. Thanks for your patience!
