Neighborhood News

Solstice Bonfire

Photos by Hugh Rhine

On Sunday, December 21, 20 EE neighbors gathered around a bonfire at Esperanza Park to celebrate the Winter Solstice. Thanks to Kevin Welsh for providing music and tending the fire with an eye toward safety.

Thirsty Thursday

We will have Thirsty Thursday this week, on Thursday, January 1st, at 4 pm, at the Ramada. We'll keep the same no-host plan, which means BYOB and snacks, and we all help with the cleanup.

Just a note about cleanup....since we don't have a host, we all need to pitch in and put the Ramada back in order when we leave. That means moving the chairs and tables back, picking up the pillows, cleaning the kitchen area, and throwing away our trash, among other things. Please pitch in as much as you can before you leave.

Good To Know

Spotlight on the Finished Snake Head in Esperanza Park

Source: John Nesavich

The snake head in Esperanza Park is finished and showing off its beautiful face.

Jodi Cable, our resident pottery artist, designed and made two heads to make sure the head was a perfect replacement for the head that was run over and destroyed. She donated her own clay and materials.

We are so lucky to have such a talented artist as a resident of Esperanza Estates.

Thank you, Jodi Cable, for your volunteerism and very professional job in making a new head for the snake in Esperanza Park.

4th Annual Orphans' Christmas Dinner

The Annual Orphans' Dinner was a great success. Thank you to Connie Scorza and Lynn Noble for their hard work in organizing this event and to the attendees who brought all the taste dishes. The dinner and community spirit was enjoyed by all.

Holiday Pickleball Lessons

Through January 3, Coach will be offering private and semi-private lessons for friends, family, guests, and grandkids of Esperanza Estate residents. Pickleball lessons are a great gift idea for the holidays.

All proceeds will go to the Pickleball Committee, which will help fund the repair of the pickleball courts and support the Bocce Ball Project. For the time of the lessons, more information, or to make a reservation, text Sharon Falor at 928-853-3474.
