President's Message
By Kevin Welsh
Welcome to 2026 in Esperanza Estates! We are looking forward to a new year filled with community activities in the Ramada and new enhancements from the HOA. A redesigned and improved website will be released soon, and work will begin shortly on the new bocce courts.
The HOA Annual Meeting will be held at CPAC (map) on January 19 at 1:00 p.m. Arrive early to get checked in and receive your 2026 HOA Name and Address Directory. This is a meeting of the homeowners where the HOA reports on the activities of the past year and presents plans for the new year. This is not a business meeting—no votes will be taken. It is your opportunity to interact with the Board directly. The results of the Directors' election will be announced to begin the meeting, and the new Directors will take their places on the Board. At the conclusion of the annual meeting, the Board will meet in special session to elect officers for the new year.
Mark your calendar—we look forward to a full house!

Esperanza Estates HOA Director Election
Source: Ken Linderman
For those who have lost the original email ballot in a stack of emails, a second email ballot will be sent on Tuesday, January 6. It will come from Esperanza Estates Homeowners Association. Please vote right away, so this one doesn’t get lost, too. The voting will close on January 14.
An access code and a password are in the ballot email. This shows up below the link for the voting address. Please note, your access code will be your Lot #, and your password will be an abbreviated address (i.e., 179napa). The access code and password must be entered exactly as they appear in the email of the voting request. You might want to write these down before opening the voting window.
On the ballot, there is an " information " line under each candidate choice. If you click on
that, it will give you more information on the candidate before you vote.
Please let me know if you have questions or problems, Ken Lindeman, eesecy@gmail.com
or text me at 970-232-4129.

EE Arts and Crafts Group

Let's try pebble art - with wine!
The EE Arts and Crafts Group is a great place to get creative, and you can't beat the camaraderie. But maybe you can enhance it a little with a glass of wine. Check out the photos of the types of pebble art we'll be attempting, then get busy coming up with your own ideas and collecting supplies like pebbles, twigs, E6000 or similar glue, and a backing for your art. Limited supplies, including pebbles, glue, and some wine, will be available. BYOB for more wine or other beverages.
RSVP to Janet Shown at 720-749-0273 or jansho@yahoo.com. Everyone is welcome; no experience necessary.
Date and time: 10 a.m. -11:30 Tuesday, January 13

Hospitality Meeting
Source: Robin Lockwood and Debbie Ries
The Hospitality Committee will be meeting on Wednesday, January 14, at 1:00 PM at the Ramada. We will be finalizing details for our January and February events. If you are interested in serving on this committee and working with some wonderful EE friends, we welcome you to join in planning and hosting a monthly dinner event at the Ramada. We will have the heaters going if needed.

Thirsty Thursday
We will have Thirsty Thursday this week, on Thursday, January 8, at 4 p.m., at the Ramada. We'll keep the same no-host plan, which means BYOB and snacks, and we all help with the cleanup.
Just a note about cleanup....since we don't have a host, we all need to pitch in and put the Ramada back in order when we leave. That means moving the chairs and tables back, picking up the pillows, cleaning the kitchen area, and throwing away our trash, among other things. Please pitch in as much as you can before you leave.

Book Club

The book group will meet again on Jan 15 at 11:00 at the Ramada.
We will discuss the book "Life After Power" by Jared Cohen.
This book offers the lives of seven of our presidents after they have left office.
These are the seven past presidents and their individual search for purpose after leaving one of the most powerful and influential jobs an individual can hold.
