Orphan's Christmas Dinner
WHEN: December 25, 2023
TIME: 1:00 pm
WHERE: Ramada
CONTACT:
Connie Scorza – 541-647-8755 or Lynn Noble – 406-794-2509
If no answer please leave a voicemail and we will get back to you.
Please come to the Orphans Christmas Dinner! So many of us don’t have family in the area to celebrate the holidays, and no one should spend them alone. Last year was a great success with over 40 people. It was a great time!
With everyone bringing a dish, there is a smorgasbord of delights certain to put you in the Christmas spirit. Don’t spend the day alone! Come join your neighbors and friends at the Ramada.
Get in touch with Connie or Lynn. We will ask you to bring an appetizer, main
dish, vegetable/salad, or dessert. Please RSVP by 12/22/2023 so we have an idea of how many tables need to be set up.
We look forward to seeing you there! Merry Christmas!

Is Your Lamp Post Twinkling?
From Jackie Rautio
Have you noticed how our EE streets are beginning to twinkle with bright Christmas Cheer? Is your lamp post twinkling too?
EE has a long-standing tradition of decorating our street light posts for the holiday season from Thanksgiving to New Years. For newcomers, you will need the electrical plug-in to go in the socket In the lamp. If the lamp does not already have one, you can purchase one at a local hardware store or Walmart. This will allow you to plug in your string of lights and they light when your lamp comes on at dusk. You then can creatively decorate your post. You will see a beautiful sight after the sun goes down.
If you are unable to take on this decorating task, we have Enhancement Elves volunteers to assist you. They will decorate your post for just $15 if you supply the decorations. $25 if we supply the decorations and an additional charge for the adapter if you need one. Everything belongs to you when we take the decorations down. Please let us know by December 3 if you would like Elf assistance.
Questions? Call Jackie Rautio at 602-206-3354

It's Thirsty Thursday Happy Hour week!!
We missed happy hour two weeks ago...well, it was Thanksgiving after all. This Thursday, December 7, 4 pm, at the Ramada, is our next EE Happy Hour. This is a no-host gathering...BYO drink (alcoholic or non...things aren't that crazy), a snack to share if you'd like, your own eating utensils, and join in for a visit. It's a great time to see your neighbors, meet new neighbors, and just hang out for a while, then everyone helps with the clean up. Come on over!

Advertising in the MMM
From Judy Hayes & John Nesavich, MMM Team, and Dave Sielken, HOA Board President
In the future, the MMM will not be able to accommodate requests to advertise personal and individual commercial notices such as real estate sales, rentals, garage/rummage sales, items for sale, services, etc. This has been the policy for some time, but in recent slow months the MMM team tried to accommodate residents' requests. Now the requests for this type of advertising are increasing, and we need to return to the original policy. As an alternative, you can post notices on the Ramada bulletin board (but please remove them when they are outdated).
We will continue to include notices about events that are EE HOA functions or supported by the HOA. As possible, we will include notices of charitable or not for profit events in which our residents are participating. Thank you for your understanding.

Optimists Donate Toys to the Salvation Army
For the past few years, the local Optimist Club has donated a lot of toys to The Salvation Army Green Valley Service Center for their Angel Tree. A number of our EE residents are members of the GV Optimists, and our residents have generously supported their Sausage Sales. This is one of several ways your donations have benefited local children.
If you want to donate, visit The Salvation Army or give them a call at 520-625-3888.

Caring Connections is a section of the Monday Morning Memo where we can share milestone information about EE residents and friends...special birthdays, accomplishments, deaths, illnesses, etc., to help our community be informed and provide support for one another. We only do this upon request, and never publish any information about individuals without permission from those involved. If you have something you would like to have mentioned, please contact the MMM team, Judy Hayes, jkhayes70@gmail.com and John Nesavich, jnesavich@gmail.com. | |
Avoiding Holiday Scams From Phishing to Travel Frauds
Source: Ent Credit Union, November 2023
The festive season is a time of joy, giving and celebration. But as you prepare to dive into the celebrations, you must be on guard against scams that could ruin your festivities.
Some of the most common holiday scams include:
- Phishing emails and fake websites: Holiday phishing scams mimic legitimate companies.
- Gift card scams: Requests to provide your gift card number or PIN.
- Fake charities: Bogus charitable organizations soliciting donations.
- Package theft: Thieves stealing packages from doorsteps.
- Fake delivery notifications: Deceptive messages mimicking legitimate delivery services.
- Travel scams: Too-good-to-be-true holiday deals that result in fake bookings.
- Money scams: A common trick involves information requests for wire transfers.
- Social media scams: Fraudulent ads or contests.
- Impersonation scams: Calls or messages pretending to be from loved ones needing urgent financial aid.
- Look-alike websites and bogus online marketplaces: Websites mimicking legitimate retailers.
Want to learn more about the protective measures you can take for each of the above holiday scams? Read more to be prepared to safeguard your information and ensure your holidays are merry and bright.

All those women dancing on their tip-toes.
Made me wonder why they didn't just find taller women.
