Dearest Friends of the Crafting Cottage,

I feel as though I have written this Musings several times - kind of like the movie 'Groundhog Day' happening over and over. Yesterday, each time I would get a couple of paragraphs written - the internet would kick me out of the program and erase what I had just typed!!! Very frustrating.

But now - I hope the Techie Gods are in a better mood today and let me continue...At least I wasn't the only one having major computer issues - just look what happened at the Iowa Caucuses!!! (Yikes)!

There is lots happening at the Crafting Cottage in February. The Craft 'n Chat that was scheduled for this upcoming Saturday is NOT happening as there weren't enough sign-ups for it.

The first "Try It Tuesday" happened last week and was great fun. Eva, Cherie, Karen and Teresa discovered different ways to use stencils. This was a technique-driven workshop and the ladies created pages for a journal to keep track of the various techniques they learned using stencils, inks, embossing paste and embossing powders. Here are some pictures from the creative day.

Embossed Glitter Paint.

The crafters worked with metal dies to use as 'stencils'. They used the wonderful blending brushes from Taylored Expressions.
The inks were from Catherine Pooler Designs - so vibrant and bold.

Crafting Cottage Onsite Retail Shop Musings...
For the last couple of weeks I have literally been living at the Crafting Cottage so that I can finish up getting things cleaned up, organized and spiffy!

Now that Tony has almost fully recovered from his knee surgery, he has been able to repair the damaged ceiling in the Blue Room when the original roofers did not properly seal it when the new roof was done. As always - Tony does incredible work and even though he is almost worse than us crafters when we spread our crafting tools all around...
...At least he does clean it all up.

Below are some pictures of the wonderful PROGRESS going on at the Cottage.
I've opened up the entire middle of the shop's room by simply moving the very tall white display fixture over and the table over to the side. What a difference it made!
I'm making lots of room for all the brand new goodies that are on their way from Graphic 45, Photo Play, Altenew and Picket Fence Studios.
I'm also happy to share that I made enough room to bring in a 2nd rotating ribbon display rack so there are now even MORE ribbons to choose from!
Dare2BArtzy has absolutely stunning papers and wonderful stamp and die sets. I have dedicated an entire section just for this wonderful company.
The Tranquility Suite (best known as the 'Blue Room') getting its ceiling spiffed up. Who knew a small issue on the ceiling would require such a production???
Thank you to Tony Ferrito for taking care and coming to the rescue of this project that was left undone for so long.

Personal Musings...
What a fun weekend I had!
Between the Super Bowl and attending the 2020 Ice Festival at the Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen - it was a wonderful weekend.

During the Super Bowl I was texting back and forth with my son who was watching the game on Base with his fellow sailors and a couple of my friends. It was an exciting game. I was happy that it was not a blow-out - it was a sit on the edge of your chair type of game. Awesome.

On Friday night - my hubby and I attended, for the first time, the Ice Festival up in Watkins Glen at the Harbor Hotel which has become an annual event. One of the coolest (literally) things was when I ordered a martini - they told me to hold my glass under an ice block and they poured the vodka through a tube that was inside the ice block. How fun!!!!

Here are some pictures from the event:
Martini in hand!
Great Ice Sculptures.
Some participants really got into the 'Frozen' theme!
Ice Hockey!!!
There were plenty of areas to keep warm - by fires and heat towers.
There was even an ICE Hockey game to play and Corn Husks game all made out of ice.
Now I must get back to work at the Crafting Cottage. I will be staying there all week. I have made great headway in the Warehouse and I want to continue getting that space organized plus I need to get all the guest rooms refreshed and ready for my new group arriving February 14th.

My hubby and I will visit Brianna this weekend which I'm looking very forward to.

Tara is loving, loving, loving her life in Durham, England. Despite the Professors going on their second strike within three months - Tara has chatted with us each Sunday with happy reports of her team winning First Place in the weekly Trivia Contests as well as sharing meals, study sessions and rock climbing adventures.

Patrick is also doing well and my hubby and I enjoyed the back and forth texting with him during the Super Bowl - almost as good as having him in the same room......Almost.

I will be working on my classes for the Syracuse/Auburn Show. My original idea was already posted by another vendor as a class they are going to teach so I go back to the drawing board with my new idea.

Wishing you all a wonderful week of creativity.

As always - Stay Crafty My Friends!!!!!

Cheers,
Georgiana
