Mrs. Woodard

Dear Families,

It has been a joy to teach your children and talk about a variety of subjects such as kindness, empathy, respect, our emotions, and more this school year. My hope is that students feel more empowered to have empathy for others, show respect to friends, family, and teachers, and learn how our emotions can affect us. We have also talked about how sometimes we need to take a break to calm down before solving a problem.

Last month, in kindergarten and first grade we've been learning and talking about caring and helping others! This month we have dove into conversations about kindness, why we should be kind, and how kind acts can make us and other people feel.

In second and third grade we also have talked about kindness and how to speak kindly and respectfully to one another. We have learned about how empathy helps us understand how someone else might be feeling.

In fourth and fifth grade we continued to learn from a unit that explores what we can do if our emotions are starting to take over, how we can take a minute to take a deep breath or a break and then resume activities without letting our emotions bubble out of control. In sixth grade, we are continuing to learn about managing relationships with others and social conflict.

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week
Hello Families!

Thanks to all of you who have signed up to donate food and flower bouquets as well as volunteer on campus during Staff Appreciation Week May 3-7. If you haven't had a chance to signup, help is still needed to decorate before school on May 3 and May 5 and many more flower bouquets are needed.

You can access our signup page here. Please signup before May 1 for planning purposes.

Please watch for an email from your Room Parent this week regarding "Thank You Note Day" on May 6. This email will have details about how your student can share messages of gratitude with staff members. Our hope is the entire Three Points community to participates in this effort.

Please reach out to either of us if you have questions.

Exciting News from Mrs. Valantine
At the end of this school year, I am retiring from teaching. Since becoming a grandmother last year, I have a strong desire to spend more time with my daughter and her family who live across the country. I am so very grateful to have spent more than half my teaching career at Three Points. I always thought I might go back to teaching in public school, but God had other plans. Working with dedicated educators, eager and respectful students, generous and supportive parents, and being part of the BCS community have kept me here for 23 years!

Car Chute
Please remember to turn right to Evergreen Point Drive when exiting the Car Chute. Thank you.

If your child tests positive for COVID-19, please call our office right away at (425) 454-3977. If our office is closed, email as soon as possible. Delayed notification complicates contract tracing, an essential step in stopping the spread of the virus. Providing us with information about 1) when symptoms developed, 2) the test date and 3) the results - help us meet our notification requirements to King County Public Health. Thank you for your help in keeping our community safe.

Also, please remember to complete the daily health screening for your child via the Magnus Health app. When a green "GO" pops up, take a screenshot of it and show it to school personnel as you're going through the car chute. Thank you!
Preschool News
Preschool's Deep Hope!

Mrs. Lowe’s Deep Hope for her students is to invite pre-kindergartners to learn God’s Kingdom Story, discover His great love for each individual, and reflect His image to those around one.

Her Pre-K students are focusing on reflecting God’s image to our community. They eagerly share the flowers, lima bean plants, and more from their garden and write notes of encouragement to those who clean our classrooms, Mr. Baker in Facilities, and others whom they see serving our BCS community. Children are noticing and reflecting God’s love!

Want to join in the fun? Three Points preschool is looking for special people to share the joy! Please contact for more information.

Our Director of Discipleship, Rev. Daniel Rogers, seeks to enrich the Christian discipleship and mentorship taking place at Three Points.

Rev. Rogers hosts weekly Chapel services, prays with students, advises administrators, teachers, and staff, and works with students to help them discover their gifts and give them away for the Glory of God and others.
