Honorees, board member installation and more |
Shawn Henley, Morgan Stanley, was installed as Chair of the Board for 2024 for the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce at the annual State of the Pleasanton Chamber. Pleasanton Mayor Karla Brown installed Henley and the rest of the chamber's board of directors in front of a great crowd of business and city leaders in the Pleasanton community at a breakfast last week at the Veterans Memorial Building in downtown Pleasanton.
Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce President/CEO James Cooper began the event by recognizing elected officials and past Board Chairs before thanking staff and sponsors. James then gave the “State of the Chamber” address, where he reviewed the Strategic Planning process the Chamber’s Board of Directors worked on for all of 2023. “The Board recognized that what has worked in the past, before the pandemic, may no longer work as well, or at all. The Chamber needed to take a moment to review our goals and objectives, and create a new way forward that benefits our members and our community." "This work," Cooper continued, “contains 39 work goals to implement within our three new pillars: Membership, Advocacy, and Governance” with the ultimate goal being “to become the sixth U.S. Chamber Foundation 5-star Accredited Chamber of Commerce in California.” To do so, the Chamber will emphasize its community partnerships with the City of Pleasanton and other agencies, and to continue working to grow the quality of life for all who live and work in Pleasanton.
Outstanding volunteers for 2023 were recognized at the event, including, Carol Rosenblatt, Crown Trophy as the chamber's Ambassador of the Year and David Wong, David Wong Chiropractic, as the Carol Bush Outstanding Volunteer Award recipient. Eric "Otis" Nostrand was honored by the chamber's community foundation with the Jenny Doehle Leadership Pleasanton award. Steve Baker, Baker Financial Consulting, LLC, was selected by outgoing board chair Jill Buck for the Chair's Award.

Pleasanton Chamber Member Survey | | |
|
Looking for your feedback |
Each year, the Chamber conducts an annual survey of members to determine your satisfaction with your membership. This is the same survey each year, which creates a baseline that measures change over time. It is really important that we (Chamber staff and our Board of Directors) clearly understand the needs of our member, how well we are doing in meeting those needs, and how much better (or worse) we are versus years past.
This survey has four sections with 27 total questions, which ask for either a single choice or for ranking choices on a scale. It should take you no more than 5 minutes to complete. The sections are:
- Why you joined/what you value most
- How Important vs. How Well
- Statements of strengths
- Chamber member demographics
Please take a few minutes to complete this important survey, and make sure you click the "Submit Survey" button at the bottom when finished. Thank you in advance for participating! We appreciate your support for the Chamber and our community.
