City Survey: Your input is important to us
The City of Pleasanton is committed to providing public services and facilities that help maintain our high quality of life. Every day, City employees work hard to support safe neighborhoods, quality streets and roads, attractive parks, recreation venues and programs, vibrant arts and cultural opportunities, and more.
However, our city is facing tough choices in the near future. We want to hear from YOU before important decisions are made.
The City of Pleasanton is exploring options to address these challenges responsibly and with community support. No decisions have been made yet, but one option under consideration is to ask voters to consider authorizing a modest increase to the local sales tax to help close the budget gap. Passing such a measure won’t solve all our problems, but it will help.
Join the conversation – complete our survey at online or email us your input at PleasantonListens@cityofpleasantonca.gov.

Join the IRS Direct File Pilot | | |
Congressman Eric Swalwell's office announces a new program from the IRS
For years, Americans have voiced their desire for an accessible and direct method to file taxes online – like a free, public version of TurboTax. Democrats listened and included it in our Inflation Reduction Act, which was signed into law by President Biden in 2022.
The IRS will soon begin testing the Direct File service in 12 states – including California –and are looking for taxpayers to file this year's taxes through their pilot program.
Right now, they're only looking for those with simple W2 tax returns for this testing phase – it's not yet applicable for anyone with business expenses, self-employment income, and itemized deductions.
The IRS expects to launch the service for testing beginning in March. For more information about the pilot go to directfile.irs.gov. You can also reach out to my office by calling (510) 370-3322 if you have any questions or if you feel members of your organization may be interested in participating.
