Pleasanton’s Salute to Partnerships event is next week

Everyone is invited to join us at the Salute to Partnerships Joint Mixer & BBQ on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on the patio at Rubys & Roses. Cost to attend is $20 per person. All registrations must be received by July 5, 2023.
City of Pleasanton staff, the Mayor, City Council and Leadership Pleasanton Alumni are invited as our guests and are FREE of charge. Chamber members, PDA members, and community members can attend for $20.
This joint mixer brings the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, the Pleasanton Downtown Association, City of Pleasanton Mayor, City Council, employees and Leadership Pleasanton alumni together for a BBQ dinner, drinks, and networking in a beautiful setting. Why? To honor the partnerships that involve everyone working together for the betterment of the Pleasanton community.

A program to develop community leaders
|
The Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the opening of registration for the Leadership Pleasanton program for the Class of 2024.
Leadership Pleasanton was created by the Pleasanton Chamber in 1988 and has produced more than 800 graduates in its 30-plus years. In the Fall of each year, 30 individuals from local businesses, professional, government and service organizations as well as residents begin participating in monthly, day-long sessions, culminating in a graduation in May. Participants have the opportunity to go behind the scenes with current leaders in the community to learn what makes Pleasanton work. Continue reading here.

Who enrolls in Leadership Pleasanton?
Individuals living or working in Pleasanton who have a desire to educate themselves with vital community information along with reinforcing their leadership skills and involvement in the community, wish to learn more about how to make a difference in our community, and have a strong desire to become part of a network of personal and professional contacts.
What is the commitment?
Attend monthly day-long sessions on the second Thursday of the month beginning in the Fall. Each member of the class is expected to attend all sessions in their entirety in order to realize the maximum benefits of the program.
What is the investment?
Tuition of $950 covers all program materials, transportation, lunch each day, and a graduation celebration. A limited number of partial scholarships are available.
How do I enroll?
The Leadership Pleasanton program is open to everyone in the community and online registration for the Class of 2024 is open here. The class is expected to be at capacity this summer with a max of 30 individuals, and all interested participants must register by July 31, 2023. A limited number of sponsorship opportunities are available as well as partial scholarships for the program.

This is going to be a long, fun holiday weekend and the Fair is open now through July 9! Today, July 3 it is open noon – 11pm.
July 4 will close early; adjusted hours are from noon – 8pm. Note, admission gates close at 4pm, parking closes at 3pm. All children 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult 21+ (with valid ID) on Tuesday, July 4.
Holiday Rides
The Carnival Midway and Kids' Carnival will be open 1pm to 8pm on the 4th. Carnival hours will be normal hours 12pm to 11pm on July 3.
July 4th Live Horse Racing
Live horse racing continues on July 4 with first post time at 1:45pm (no racing on July 3).

Annual Pleasanton 4th of July Celebration
|
At the free outdoor celebration held at Lions Wayside Park in downtown Pleasanton on Tuesday, July 4, visitors can enjoy live performances and activities related to Pleasanton and Independence Day.
The Pleasanton Community Concert Band, led by conductors Bob Williams and Mark Aubel, will perform live music from the past 100 years as well as several patriotic-themed songs.
The Pleasanton Lions Club members will be offering a picnic lunch with a hot dog, chips and water for $3. Free handheld U.S. flags will be distributed to the first 300 visitors.
The event will also recognize this year's Ed Kinney Community Patriots, Ken Mano and Todd Utikal.
Milestones of two local high schools, the centennial of Amador Valley High School and the 50th anniversary of Foothill High School, will be honored by speakers as well.
Local author Donna McMillion will make an appearance at the event. McMillion served as the lead editor-author for "Cruising Down Memory Lane," a book of interviews from Pleasanton residents in the 1950s.
Volunteers from the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Boy Scouts will be assisting throughout the event.

You're Invited to the Pleasanton Community of Character Summer BBQ, a fundraiser to provide scholarships for students of the Pleasanton Unified School District who demonstrate exceptional character traits.
