Hosted by American Legion Post 237
Join the Pleasanton Chamber for an in-person networking mixer, hosted by American Legion Post 237 on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.

As a patriotic Veterans organization dedicated to serving our fellow Veterans and Service members, American Legion Post 237 participates in programs that promote duty and honor through patriotism in our communities and seeks to inspire others in the spirit of volunteerism. Mayor Karla Brown's State of the City luncheon

The Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present State of the City Pleasanton 2022, featuring Mayor Karla Brown. Everyone in the community is invited to hear Mayor Brown's first in-person State of the City address, set for Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Pleasanton at The Club.

"I look forward to sharing this year’s update with the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce and the community at the State of the City address," said Mayor Brown. "I invite Pleasanton residents and businesses to learn about the projects and programs our city has been working on, and some of the exciting initiatives on the horizon that will help ensure our city's growth, vitality, and stability in the years to come."

The luncheon event is a collaborative effort between the City of Pleasanton and the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce. Tickets to attend are available at www.pleasanton.org, $50 per attendee through March 11, $60 beginning March 12.

Every second Wednesday of the month at 7:30 a.m., the Chamber brings stakeholders together to focus community resources, time and talent to achieve greater understanding of issues, obstacles and opportunities related to our Pleasanton 2025: A Community Vision. 

Please join us for our next Pleasanton 2025 Forum Meeting on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 7:30 a.m. Our guest speaker is Dr. David Haglund, Superintendent of Schools for PUSD. This meeting will be held in a hybrid format where you can join us in-person at the chamber office or virtually through Zoom.

Bocado: Un Petit Bistro
As March is Women's Herstory Month, Bocado is honoring and celebrating the accomplishments of women around the world. We have designed a window display featuring 30 women trailblazers taking over our storefront windows!

Beginning on March 8th (International Women's Day) and all throughout the month, we will be giving away a free cup of regular coffee with the purchase of a pastry.
Stanford Blood Center
Blood donors are essential to the health and safety of our community, and this March, saving lives is a slam dunk at Stanford Blood Center.

As a special thanks for keeping patients a priority, anyone who donates at any center or mobile drive March 1-31 will be entered into a drawing to win one of TWO pairs of tickets to see the Golden State Warriors face off against the Los Angeles Lakers on April 7!
St. Patty's Day and March Madness at Sunshine Saloon
Corned beef, drink specials, open at 9am
Sunshine Saloon opens at 9:00 a.m. on March 17 and their legendary St. Patrick's day specials are back again this year. Come out for succulent corned beef and cabbage, have one of their signature holiday cocktails, and enjoy the day in your best green outfit! While you're doing all of that, don't forget to fill out your March Madness bracket, they'll have the games on all day long!

Accepting nominations and scholarship recipients
Now open online, April 11, 2022 is deadline for submissions. The Pleasanton Community of Character Collaborative is seeking nominations for the 2022 13th Annual Juanita Haugen Community of Character Awards. These awards were established in 2008 to recognize Pleasanton citizens who model high ethical and moral standards of behavior and are dedicated volunteers contributing their time to our community. Candidates for this award should exhibit traits chosen by the Citizens of Pleasanton and Advocated by the Collaborative: Compassion, Honesty, Respect, Integrity, Self-Discipline, and Responsibility. Read more here. Juanita Haugen Community of Character Award recipients will be honored at the May 18, 2022 Community of Character Collaborative Luncheon.

Four high school seniors have been selected by the Community of Character Collaborative as recipients of the 2022 Juanita Haugen Memorial Scholarship. Applicants were required to explain how their actions have reflected any or all of the six characteristics adopted by the Pleasanton Unified School District, City of Pleasanton, the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce faith and other organizations: compassion, honesty, respect, responsibility, integrity, and self-discipline. Continue reading here.

Pleasanton Chamber CEO Steve Van Dorn to retire
Effective May 1
After a 25-year career in the chamber of commerce industry, Steve Van Dorn, President/CEO of the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, has announced his retirement effective May 1, 2022.

“I have really enjoyed my four years at the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce. It has been my dream job, very rewarding and certainly challenging due to the pandemic,” said Van Dorn. “Thanks to an awesome team, engaged board of directors and a very supportive membership, the chamber is in a strong position to continue its leadership in advocating for the business community,” he said.
