Rattler Educator News & Info
College of Education, the cornerstone for educators, the future of tomorrow...
Faculty Spotlight
Faculty of the Week | Dr. Endya Stewart
What's your favorite thing about being at FAMU COE? M.E. (Mostly Everything). Everyday in the College is an experience. I enjoy my COE family. The one thing that I would change is the lack of whole group fellowship. Food, fun, FAMU-ly... fellowship!

What pivotal moment shaped your life as an educator? There is no one moment. Instead, there were many moments that directed my path. From playing school with my dolls to watching my father teach collegiate courses to helping my classmates understand difficult concepts, education has been embedded in my life.

What would you say to inspire future educators? I routinely encourage future educators to think about their legacy. What will be your impact on the world? How will people speak about you?

What do you like to do for fun/leisure time? In my leisure time, I enjoy cruising the aisles of thrift and consignment stores. Sometimes you can find the best treasures in these stores.
Alumni Feature
Alumni Spotlight | Ms. Arnekua Jackson
Ms. Jackson is a proud FAMU graduate from our Music Education program. She shared fond memories during our recent visit to her classroom. One in particular was that she completed her student internship under the watchful guidance of Dr. Shelby Chipman when he was a middle school teacher.
Ms. Jackson is a phenomenal Music K-5 teacher at Hartsfield Elementary in Leon County Schools and serves as the choral director. Under Ms. Jackson's leadership and direction, the Hartsfield Elementary School Concert Chorale has been invited to perform in New York City at Carnegie Hall. If you would like to donate and help sponsor the Hartsfield Choir trip, please use this link .
We are so proud of this outstanding alumna and look forward to celebrating other #rattlereducators from across the state, the nation and the world!
