Special Called Meeting of Presbytery
This is a Call for a Special Meeting of New Brunswick Presbytery to Examine for Ordination Nathan Jeremie-Brink this Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 7pm at the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville.
 
REMINDER: This special meeting to examine Nathan Jeremie-Brink requires 13 elders from 13 different congregations and 13 pastors. 
PLEASE make every effort to be there, and please register ASAP so that we know we will have a quorum.

UMIO HOLDS 6TH ANNUAL UNITY GATHERING

On Sunday, May 5, UMIO (United Mercer Interfaith Organization) is holding its 6 th Annual Unity Gathering for the families of victims of homicide violence during the past year in the Trenton area. This prayer gathering is focused on remembering those individuals who have died. The Unity Gathering will be held in Mill Hill Park - 2:00pm – 5:00pm. The families of the victims are invited, as well as members of the community impacted by their loss. UMIO is reaching out to the community in the hope of locating as many families as possible. 
 
The interfaith ceremony will feature music, readings, commentary, and prayers. The moderator for this year’s memorial gathering is the Rev. Karen Hernandez-Granzen, Pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Trenton. Music will begin at 2:00pm, which will allow families an opportunity to interact with others and avail themselves of information on support services they might find helpful. Speakers will make up the formal portion of the program from 3:00-4:00pm, followed by more music and refreshments.

PART-TIME DIRECTOR OF MUSIC OPPORTUNITY

Alexandria First Presbyterian Church in Milford NJ is searching for a part-time (15 hours per week) Director of Music Ministry. The Director of Music Ministry should be a seasoned organist and pianist who is proficient in directing both Chancel, Junior and Youth choirs. The successful candidate should have a solid background in church music as well, and be willing to rehearse with the Chancel choir one evening a week as well as provide the choral and congregational music during the Sunday service. Inquiries should be directed to the Alexandria Search Committee at [email protected] .
 
CHURCH MUSICIAN OPPORTUNITY


T he First Presbyterian Church of Trenton is seeking a Church Musician.
In consultation with the pastoral staff and the Session, the Church Musician accompanies the congregation in its weekly Sunday morning worship service, playing a prelude, hymns, service music, offertory, and postlude, with occasional special services, which are negotiable.

REQUIREMENTS

Commitment to seeing music as a ministry of spiritual growth and development in our congregational setting.

Appropriate musical education/training and/or professional experience.

Skills in congregational piano accompaniment and selection of music.

Good verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Consult with the Pastor as necessary regarding theme of worship, special programs, selection of hymns, and other music.

If requested, assist in arranging for special music in worship.


ACCOUNTABILITY

The Church Musician is accountable to the Pastor/s and to the Session.

REMUNERATION

Negotiable. Can participate in Retirement Fund (403b) if desired.

Services needed beginning April 28.
