Inclusion Night Triple-Header Thursday

Hollister High School's Circle of Friends club invites the community to the 7th Annual Inclusion Night – Full Game Experience, where CoF and Baler Football are teaming up for an evening full of fun, friendship, and football during a triple-header on Thursday, Sept. 17!  Circle of Friends is an inclusion-focused club that brings students with and without disabilities together to build friendships, create meaningful connections, and promote a school community where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and included. This special event celebrates inclusion, diversity, friendship, and unity within our community — and we’d love for you to join us in the stands to support our students and athletes!

Event Details:

  •  Thursday, September 17 | Andy Hardin Stadium
  •  JV Game: 3:30 p.m.
  • Varsity Girls Flag Football Game: 5:30 p.m.
  •  Varsity Game: 7:30 p.m.
  • “White Out” Game – Wear white to show your support!
  •  Inclusion Night shirts and crewnecks will be available for purchase.

We are also excited to announce that Jack Preader will be our Honorary Captain for Inclusion Night! During halftime of the varsity football game, our Unified Cheer team will take the field for a special performance. Be sure to stick around and cheer them on. Let’s fill the stands and celebrate the power of inclusion together!

Suicide Prevention Week Activities

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. This week, Hollister High School's Baler Wellness Center is partnering with the Baler ASB to put on events for students during Haybaler Support Time and lunch to remind students that they are not alone. All lunchtime events will be held outside of the Student Union.

Dogs Went To Work After 9/11

(From Shout The Facility Dog)

Did you know that thousands of people came together to help after 9/11—and some very special four-legged helpers were there, too? Search-and-rescue dogs traveled to Ground Zero to help firefighters and other first responders search through the rubble. These dogs used their incredible noses to search for people who might still be alive. They climbed over piles of debris, worked for hours, and stayed focused even though the environment around them was loud, confusing, and incredibly difficult. And when they weren't searching, the dogs helped in another important way: they gave people comfort. First responders and volunteers could stop for a moment, pet a dog, give it a hug, and take a much-needed breath. As a facility dog, I like to think I understand that part pretty well. Sometimes you don't need to say anything. Sometimes sitting next to someone, offering a little comfort, or just being there can make a hard moment a little easier.
