might consider buying one if you read to the end of this newsletter for one awesome
deal on a wine for the ages.

New Arrivals & Deals

Furst Elbling Trocken (dry) 2015, Mosel, Germany, $18.99 (full Liter)
"Crisp, dry, refreshing, and light - our classic Elbling. This white wine stands for an uncomplicated way of enjoying drink. Its lovely flavors of green apple and lemon are very characteristic." -from the winery, taste it with us Friday!

Barraud Macon Fuisse 2015, Burgundy, France, $27.99
"Deep and leesy with a core of apple and citrus and notes of nuts and toffee.

Lafond Lirac Blanc 2015, Rhone, France, $19.99
"A wine that should be snatched up by Rhone white lovers is the 2015 Lirac Roc Epine Blanc; it's a sensational value. Made from 50% Grenache, 30% Roussanne and 20% Viognier that was aged 10% in barrels (the balance was in stainless steel), it has terrific notes of citrus blossom, mint and hints of crushed rocks in its medium-bodied, fresh, lively, yet also textured style. Drink 2016-2018." 90pts WA

Vina Mein Ribeiro 2015, Galicia, Spain, $21.99
70% Treixadura and a blend of Godello, Albariño, Loureira, Torrontés and Lado. Fermented in stainless steel with extended aging on the lees. Clear gold color. Fresh quince and green apple skin aromas. The palate is bright and tart with a good fleshy palate. Refreshing stuff. -from the importer

De Wetshof Chardonnay "Limestone Hill" 2016, Robertson, South Africa, $17.99
"A fresh white, with a quinine edge giving the core of green fig, yellow apple and white peach flavors extra zip through the floral-edged finish. Drink now through 2018." 91pts WS, also 91pts WE

Keller Riesling (Dry) "Von der Fels" 2011, Germany, $37.99
"Representing as usual a selection from across his top sites, (this) delivers pronounced citrus rind and pip piquancy, along with notes of pumpkin or winter squash with their seeds and myriad - alkaline, stony, saline - suggestions of things mineral. A tad lower in alcohol than the corresponding Gutsriesling, it manages a similar trick of projecting substantiality at the same time as levity and vivacity. This impressively persistent cuvee is likely to gain an edge on that generic if permitted a few years in bottle, even though today it's marginally less infectiously juicy." 90pts WA

By Ott Rose 2016, Provence, France, $24.99
"Light salmon color. This is so refined and beautiful with sliced apples, lemon rind and white peaches. Medium body, bright acidity and an ash and lightly fruity finish. Lovely balance to this wine." 91pts JS

Chateau Margilliere "Bastide" Rose 2016, Provence, France, $18.99

Left Coast Rose of Pinot Noir 2016, Willamette Valley, OR, $19.99

Domaine de Reuilly Pinot Gris Rose 2016, Loire Valley, France, $22.99

Monte degli Angeli Pinot Noir 2015, Piedmont, Italy, Reg. $13.99, Sale $11.99

food to be enjoyed.

Ciacci Piccolomini Rosso di Montalcino 2013, Tuscany, Italy, Reg. $27.99, Sale $18.99
"A rich style, with cherry and plum flavors set against a vibrant structure. The dense tannins emerge on the moderately long finish. Drink now through 2021." 90pts WS, also 90pts JS & V

Ciacci Piccolomini Brunello di Montalcino 2013, Tuscany, Italy, Reg. $72.99, Sale $49.99
"The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino represents a return to the traditional values of Montalcino. The bouquet is buoyant and bright with lingering tones of smoke, ash, balsam herb, licorice and soy sauce. Those kinds of aromas make Brunello such a wonderful wine and thankfully you get them in abundance here. Dry mineral and brimstone also give the wine a sense of focus, sharpness and cleanliness that is very appealing. The close is long, fine and polished. I look forward to retasting
this bottle five years from now." 94+pts WA, also 94pts JS

Churchill's Vintage Port 2011, Douro, Portugal, Reg. $149.99 , Sale $106.99
"Offers intense aromas and flavors of violet, cherry and dark plum, showing an almost exotic velvety nature, with loads of cream and spice accents. Delivers notes of chocolate and vanilla extract on the explosive finish. Very alluring. Best from 2030 through 2060." 97pts WS
