MEMBER UPDATE
Personal Check Orders

If you’ve ordered personal checks through the Credit Union in the past, here’s a quick update to be aware of.

We recently transitioned to a new personal check vendor. Your current checks will continue to work as usual. This change only applies the next time you place a check order.

Because this is a new vendor, your first order will need to be placed with help from a Member Service Representative. After that, future reorders will be easy to complete by phone or online.

We chose this vendor with members in mind. Orders now cost less overall and include more checks per order, helping your dollars go a little further.

If you have questions or are ready to place your next order, give us a call! We’re happy to help.

YOUR PATH TO A LOAN
Made Clear

Thinking about a loan doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. Whether you’re planning ahead or just starting to explore options, your Credit Union is here to help you move forward with confidence.

To make the process easier, we created a Credit Guide designed to walk you through what lenders look at, how credit works, and how to prepare before you apply. It’s a simple, supportive resource meant to take the guesswork out of borrowing and help you feel informed every step of the way.

When you’re ready, our team is here to listen, answer questions, and help you find a loan that fits your life. From auto loans to personal loans and more, you don’t have to have everything figured out to get started.

90 YEARS

In the Making

This year, Nordstrom Federal Credit Union turns 90, with roots going all the way back to 1936.

To set the scene, that year...

  • A movie ticket cost about $0.25
  • The Hoover Dam was completed, becoming one of the largest engineering projects in the world
  • Jesse Owens won four gold medals competing in Track & Field events at the Berlin Olympics, making history on a global stage
  • Monopoly was becoming a household favorite board game

It was also the year that employees from Best’s Apparel, a Seattle women’s clothing store, came together with a simple idea: create a Credit Union to support coworkers and families with fair, affordable financial services and personal care.

90 years later, a lot has changed, but that people-first spirit remains at the heart of everything we do. We’re proud to continue serving the Nordstrom community today.

Stay Tuned...

We'll be celebrating this milestone throughout the year with stories, moments, and opportunities to connect. The celebration is just getting started!

RECAP:

Virtual Benefits Fair

Thank you to everyone who "stopped by" our virtual booth during Nordstrom’s Virtual Benefits Fair. We loved connecting with employees and sharing how the Credit Union supports the Nordstrom community as a valuable benefit.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect and proud to be part of the benefits that support you!

4 SMART MOVES FOR

Tax Season

Tax season doesn’t have to be complicated. A few quick check-ins now can help things go more smoothly and keep surprises to a minimum.

  1. Check your direct deposit. If you’re e-filing, confirm your account and routing numbers so any refund is deposited directly into your Credit Union account.
  2. Decide where your refund will go (and how it will work for you). Before it arrives, think about how you’d like to use it. Saving, paying down a balance, covering upcoming expenses, or even setting it aside as a down payment for a vehicle are all solid options.
  3. Stay alert for tax scams. Be cautious of unexpected emails, texts, or calls claiming to be from the IRS. These messages are often scams designed to collect personal information.
  4. Keep an eye on your accounts. Review your statements and online banking regularly to catch anything that doesn’t look right.

A little planning can make tax season feel much less stressful. If you have questions or want help setting up direct deposit, our team is here to help.
