Join us at the 2021 Women's Financial Conference!
We have some awesome speakers and topics planned for our conference. Check them out below and next month in our newsletter we will be highlighting a few of them with you!
Welcome to two of our new sponsors of the conference!
We want to welcome and thank two of our new sponsors of the Southern Tier Women's Financial Conference - CO-OP Financial Services and CUNA Mutual Group. We could not put on this conference at such a low cost to our participants without the help of the amazing sponsors like these.

The vision behind the Southern Tier Women's Financial Conference is to gather a diverse group of women to not just learn, but to share their financial and life experiences. This one-day conference was established because there is a need to empower and educate women in our area about financial matters. Statistically women are a powerful financial force! Many women serve as chief financial officers of their households and we want to make sure these women are prepared for this position. Professional women are invited to lead the conference on a broad array of financial issues, such as budgeting, credit, investing, retirement, social security and identity theft.

In addition to the educational sessions, the conference provides exhibitors demonstrating health and nutrition products. Networking during lunch and breaks encourages women to share concerns and issues. Valuable takeaways from the event include materials, current publications and door prizes. This conference has grown over its seven years and because of overwhelming response, we plan an annual event where a variety of new topics are introduced.

If you are interested in sponsoring the conference please download the sponsor form here and contact Nancy Reigelsperger at 607-664-2573.
Congratulations to the visionary leader of our conference!
Amy Irvine, Founder and Owner of Rooted Planning Group in Corning, recently received Honorable Mention for the Volunteer of the Year Award in the 15th Annual Invest in Others Awards for her philanthropic contributions to Cornell Cooperative Extension of Steuben County (CCE Steuben). CCE Steuben will receive a $2,500 donation from Invest in Others in recognition of Amy’s charitable work!

Amy’s nomination was evaluated based on her leadership, dedication, contribution, inspiration, and impact out of hundreds of nominations submitted from across the country and around the world. She has made a significant impact on our local community by working hands-on and giving of her time, talent, and energy, which speaks to the heart of the Volunteer of the Year Award.

Upcoming classes at Cornell Cooperative Extension
Are You Part of The Sandwich Generation?

If you have a parent over the age of 65, and young children (or you are financially supporting an adult child), you are part of the sandwich generation. Because of this you probably feel like you are being pulled in several directions.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Steuben County again partners with Patrick Roth, Elder Law Attorney, CPA from Corning, to lead a workshop entitled Are You Part of the Sandwich Generation? to be held on Thursday, July 22 at 6:30 p.m. online.

He will cover five strategies to help you cope, including:
  • Learn why and how to have “The Conversation” with your parent,
  • Discover what documents you should be gathering,
  • Find out what to look for to know if your parent needs help (even if they don’t ask), and
  • Learn what legal documents need to be in place now.

The workshop is free, but registration is required. Register here for your zoom link to this free class.
