Coronavirus in Orange County
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
Dear Saints Family,

May Christ’s ever present blessings abound in and through you!

Over the last few weeks, Crean Lutheran High School has been monitoring both the traditional cold and flu season as well as the new coronavirus, which has now reached Orange County. This new virus is of concern to many of our families and to us as well; therefore, we ask that you join in partnering to provide the most safe and healthy environment for students, families, faculty, and staff.

According to the Orange County Department of Health, there has been one confirmed case of coronavirus in Orange County. While this news and the close proximity to our campus is alarming, we can confirm that this case is not affiliated with a Crean Lutheran student or their family. Furthermore, the Orange County Department of Health has also shared that this case presents no evidence that person-to-person transmission has occurred and that the risk of infection is believed to be low.  The Orange County Health Care Agency has declared that the risk for school children in Orange County is currently minimal.

The Center of Disease Control and Prevention has released the following illness prevention strategies, which should be closely followed.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

If your student exhibits flu-like symptoms (e.g. fever, coughing, and/or difficulty breathing), please contact your healthcare provider and follow-up by notifying the front desk at Crean Lutheran High School.  We will continue to closely monitor this recent outbreak and collaborate with local health agencies. The health and wellness of our community is of the utmost importance. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email Mr. Angelo Marquez at [email protected] .

In Christ,
