A Message from County Executive

Adam J. Bello:

Dear Friends,

Winter is in full swing, bringing its share of cold and snowy days. Community preparedness is vital to keeping everyone safe in the recent wide-spread winter storm. I want to thank the essential workers who reported for duty to provide critical services as well as the residents who stayed off the roads—allowing first responders and snowplows to do their jobs safely and efficiently. We were also pleased to welcome Governor Kathy Hochul to our community, where she announced a new universal child care pilot program for Monroe County. When childcare works, parents can work, families can thrive and our economy grows. At a time when child care funding is increasingly uncertain and providers are harder to find, Governor Hochul has listened to the needs of our county and continues to deliver for Monroe County.

What's New

New York State is Putting Families First

Families are the foundation of a strong county. Thanks to Governor Kathy Hochul's $20 million child care pilot program and $300 million investment in economic development funding through the Rochester-Monroe Transformation Initiative — we’re putting families first in Monroe County! Together, these meaningful investments will attract businesses, grow our workforce, and create stable child care for working families right here at home.

Winterfest

We don’t always get to say this, but the weather was perfect for Winterfest! Families filled Mendon Ponds Park for a fun, outdoor day together. A big thank-you to our vendors and the Monroe County Parks staff for helping make this annual event so memorable.
