We would like to recognize Mrs. Alicia Elder, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning, for her continued dedication and service to the staff, students, parents, and community members in our county. Mrs. Elder’s strengths are listed as follows: 

● Paying attention to detail in all that she does 
● Leading professional learning through innovation, organization, and flexibility 
● Helping others through open and honest feedback and communication 
● Continuing to learn and grow as an educator 
● Making sure that all children receive a top-notch educational experience 
● Having fun with her work and always being positive at every turn 

We appreciate Mrs. Elder and the many talents she brings to our school district.
Deidre Powers 

We would like to recognize Ms. Deidre Powers, Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, for her dedication and service to the staff, students, parents, and community members in our county. Ms. Powers always has a positive attitude and looks forward to working with school stakeholders each day. Her strengths include: 
● Exhibiting patience and understanding when dealing with people who call our central office 
● Remaining professional and courteous when dealing with difficult and trying situations involving school stakeholders 
● Keeping the workplace positive through her smiles and laughter each day 
● Valuing education for all children 
● Treating people with honor, dignity, and respect 
● Welcoming new people to our school district 

We appreciate Ms. Powers and all the blessings she brings to the school system.

Will Meeks presented a plan to the Board of Education on Tuesday April 11 for his upcoming Eagle Scout project.  Will proposed building an outdoor classroom at Mary Persons High School so teachers would have a dedicated outdoor space to utilize

Will Meeks presented a plan to the Board of Education on Tuesday, April 11, for his upcoming Eagle Scout project.  Will proposed building an outdoor classroom at Mary Persons High School, so teachers would have a dedicated outdoor space to utilize for their classes.  The board unanimously approved Will’s proposal.   The next step in the process is to receive approval from the scout council.  Once that is obtained, Will can begin the work on the outdoor classroom.
