PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
teacher appreciation week
This week at Montair we are celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week. I personally appreciate what each teacher brings to the table here at Montair. They work tirelessly to meet the academic, social,  and emotional needs of the kids in their care. They collaborate to coordinate their work together as a grade level, pushing each other to continually grow and also offering a secure place to ask for help. We have worked this year to build grade level differentiated instruction groups. The teams have all experimented with this model and have found strategies that are helping all of our students gain a bit of extra time to focus on areas of need. This staff is great!

This week, we are also continuing our service opportunity with the Wheelchair Foundation Fundraiser. Students can bring in their coins and cash to class to try to fundraise for wheelchairs. The class with the most money collected will earn a dance party. Every $ 150 buys a wheelchair for a person in need. Thanks for supporting this worthy cause.

We are also continuing our book drive for our Sister School, Mission Elementary School in Antioch. We have a barrel located near the office. If you would like to contribute a book or two for our sister school, your generosity would be greatly appreciated. Students from Mission Elementary will be taking a field trip to Montair to deliver a thank you to our students and to spend some time with our Leadership students. We would love to send them on their way with several boxes of books to share with students.

Please note that this Friday is an early release day for all SRVHS feeder schools. 1-5 will be dismissed at 12:10. Our AM kinders and TK kids will attend school from 8:10-10:40. Our PM kinders will attend 9:40-12:10.

Here’s to another great week of learning together!

SISTER SCHOOL BOOK DRIVE
NOW- March 29TH
We are collecting NEW books for the students of Mission Elementary, and there is no easier way to donate then at our book fair! There will be a blue bin in the library this week in case you’d like to buy a book to give to our sister school. Picture books, chapter books, hard cover, soft cover, any book that would be loved by an elementary school student. Donations can also be placed in the blue bin by the office. Thank you for sharing Montair’s love of reading with our sister school!
This week, Montair is kicking off our annual campaign to raise awareness and donations for the Wheelchair Foundation

Raising awareness : The students will attend an assembly, hosted by the Wheelchair Foundation. There will also be wheelchairs delivered to Montair, and distributed across grade-levels so that our students have the opportunity to experience what it is like to be mobile by means of a wheelchair.

Collecting donations : Roadrunners are encouraged to contribute to the fundraising efforts Donation canisters are located in each classroom, as well as the main office. Perhaps some creative ways to collect donations over spring break. (Bake sales, lemonade stands...)

With just $150, a brand new wheelchair is built and delivered to someone in need. Our Roadrunners have the opportunity to make a huge difference in an individual's life.

SUPPORT the Wheelchair Foundation and bring MOBILITY, FREEDOM, DIGNITY, HOPE

Fundraising runs from March 25-April 17th
