Dear Montair Families,
We hope you had a wonderful break and enjoyed time with your family and friends. We are excited to welcome you and your children back to campus for the new year! We have some fun in store to kick off 2022. On Tuesday, we’ll have a positive vibes welcoming committee at the loop welcoming our students and families back to campus. On Wednesday, our kids will be writing uplifting messages on the sidewalk. Thursday will be Positivi-T-shirt day. We ask our students to wear T-shirts with positive messaging on them. We’ll be taking photos and posting pictures of our good vibes on Twitter. Friday is Roadrunner gear day. The class with the highest percentage of participation will get a bonus recess. We can’t wait to celebrate the promise of the new year with our students!
As we return to campus, we will reinforce the importance of our students following COVID safety protocols. Students will be asked to be extra mindful of keeping their masks on appropriately and hand sanitizing. We understand the current COVID surge is concerning, yet we will do our best to maintain a sense of normalcy and continue progressing through our curriculum. We will continue to eat lunch outside unless it is raining. Please be sure your children are dressed warmly.
If your child has tested positive or needs to be quarantined because they are an unmasked close contact of someone, please inform us by calling the attendance line: (925) 855-5199 and we will initiate the process to get work home for your student. Due to confidentiality mandates, we are unable to share the names of students who test positively. Parents have shared that they appreciate it when their children’s friend’s parents notify them when they have to quarantine if they have played with one another outside of school. Please consider sharing this information with your children’s friends’ parents as needed. Despite the ongoing pandemic, we must do our best to live each day to the fullest and provide a nurturing, safe environment for our children to learn and our staff to teach. Thank you for doing your part in maintaining the wellbeing of our community.
Warm regards,
Elizabeth Lyons, Ed.D.
