This month, our Character Trait of the Month is HONESTY. We strategically study this trait in October because the Book Fair gives us an authentic opportunity to practice. Our students visit the library, see many items that they desire and have to exercise restraint when walking past. We will discuss what to do when you find money that is not yours and what to do when you see something you want that you can’t afford. We discuss how honesty is owning up to choices we’ve made that weren’t great ones and honesty is also doing the right thing when no one is looking. This month, our book will be
Ruthie and the Not So Teeny Tiny Lie
.
I am sure we will have some great classroom discussions around this topic. The study of Honesty always links to the study of bravery. It takes a lot of courage to be honest and it takes practice too!
Each week, our Leadership students, put together a series of announcements about important events at MT. Thank you Mrs. Wui and Mrs. Kurfirst for leading the way for our kiddos. Please enjoy our
MTTV
announcements from last Friday!
I look forward to seeing all of you at the Carnival this Sunday! Montair has the BEST school carnivals ever! Here’s to a great week of learning together!

MONTAIR BOOK FAIR
The Montair Fall Book Fair will kick off on Monday, September 30th and run through Sunday, October 6th. We are looking for some lovely parent volunteers to help us with checkouts, assisting the kids with their shopping, bagging books etc.
The book fair is open during recess, lunch and 30 minutes after dismissal. Mrs. Tricaso will be reading at our
family event Wednesday evening 5:30pm - 7:00pm
.
The fair will also be open during the Montair Fall Carnival on Sunday, October 6th from noon - 4pm.
It is a super fun event and the kids absolutely love it. As always, your help is very much appreciated. We truly can't do it without you.
This will be our
only book fair
of the school year.
Purchasing books at the fair is a great way to support our school library! Mrs. Suffoletta is able to purchase new library books with the funds raised from book fair sales.

Montair PTA invites 1st-5th grade students to help make care packages for the homeless after school on Wednesday, October 16th!
Pledge to Humanity empowers our youngest generations to volunteer in efforts that improve the quality of life for children, families, and seniors in need through local and global initiatives.
Students will have a meaningful introduction to the Pledge to Humanity mission, and connect that mission to the needs of homeless people in our broader community by making care packages of non-perishable food and other items of comfort.
Space is limited, so please sign up:
