Message From The Principal
Dear Montair Families,

We hope you enjoyed the carnival on Sunday. It was a fun-filled day, full of happy memories. We want to thank Kelly Francis, our carnival chairperson and the many parents who helped make our carnival so special. We appreciate their hard work and dedication. Thank you for making the Montair carnival such a wonderful day!

On Friday, 10/29, we will celebrate Halloween at Montair. Festivities start at 8:15 with an all-school parade. The PM kindergarten class will attend school from 8:00-11:30 that day, so they can join in the fun.  If it is raining during the parade time, it will be cancelled. Please remember that Halloween costumes must be school appropriate. Costumes with blood, gore, and weapons should not be at school. Room parents will coordinate classroom parties. Also remember that we are not able to eat in classrooms, thus party activities cannot require food. Students can have goodie bags as they depart school.

We have a few more open times available for family portraits which will be October 23rd & 24th at Oak Hill Park. Our generous photographers are donating 100% of the proceeds to the Montair Foundation. If you’d like to schedule a photograph, please click HERE.  Make up for school picture day is October 27th. If your child was absent on our original picture day, or you are not happy with the pictures that were taken, your child is welcome to take pictures on October 27th.

We anticipate rain coming this week and possibly next week as well. As we approach rainy weather, we will need to eat lunch indoors. If you are not comfortable with your child eating in the cafeteria with other children, please indicate this on this Google Form. We will set up tables in a protected area outside for your children to eat lunch.

SRVUSD will be offering the CogAT exam for all students new to the district who have never taken it and for 3rd and 4th grade students who have taken it once previously and would like another try. The CogAT exam is used for Gate identification and ATP eligibility. Register from October 19 to November 12 on the Gate Testing page of the district website. Late registrations will not be accepted.

SRVUSD is looking for parents, students, and staff to participate in the Culture and Climate Subcommittee. If you are interested in joining this subcommittee, sign up on this Google Form.

On Friday 10/22 we will hold vision and hearing screenings. We need volunteers to help from 8:15-12:00. If you’re interested in helping out, sign up HERE

The San Ramon Valley Unified School District is conducting a job fair to recruit applicants for full/part time/substitute/hourly Custodians, Bus Drivers, Crossing Guards, Child Nutrition Assistants, Noon Duty Supervisors on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 3:15 pm – 6:00 pm at Iron Horse Middle School located at 12601 Alcosta Blvd, San Ramon, CA 94583. We will have onsite interviews.

SRVUSD has partnered with AGILE force/LSA Labs to provide COVID testing to our students, staff, families, and community members. Testing is covered under the federal CARES Act and your insurance carrier. There should be no cost to you. In order to be tested, you will need to sign up through Global Virus Pass (GVP), and complete the Universal Consent. Once that is done, students who are considered close contacts can make a standing appt. between the hours of 8am - 3pm, where the nurse may test them at school. To learn more about GVP, click HERE. To pre-register with GVP, click HERE.

We hope you have a wonderful week!

Warmly,
Elizabeth Lyons, Ed.D.
