PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Montair Families,

We are happy to share that starting Monday, October 26th, Montair Elementary School is a free Grab and Go meal pick up site. Any child under 18 qualifies for the Grab and Go Meals Program. Families can come through the loop to pick up meals for their children from 10:00-1:00 Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. For more information click HERE

October 26 - October 30 is Red Ribbon Week. This year’s theme is “Be Happy. Be Brave”. During Red Ribbon Week, we encourage students to make healthy choices. Along with the theme of healthy choices, we will also host spirit days. This week’s spirit days are: Monday, wear Red; Tuesday, Be Strong & Wear Superhero Gear (This is a change from Wear Camouflage) ; Wednesday, Show You Care, Wear Crazy Hair; Thursday, Wear Your Favorite Sports Team; Friday, Wear your Halloween costume. In addition to spirit days, our 4th and 5th graders will attend a Teen Esteem assembly. This assembly highlights the importance of making good choices and building healthy relationships. We hope this week’s lessons and activities offer you and your family some topics for rich discussions.

This Thursday, 10/29 and Friday,10/30 are material pick up/turn in days. If your child checked out a book, please return it to the library book cart. This week is also the week to turn in “Read the Rainbow” October reading logs. You can put the logs in the tray next to the library cart. We will put away student materials at 1:30 on Friday, 10/30 to make space for the Halloween drive through.  Please do your best to pick up your child’s materials before 1:30 on October 30th.

On Friday, 10/30 we will celebrate Halloween with a “Halloween Treat Drive Through”. Between 2:30-4:00, our fabulous Montair teachers and staff will be handing out treats along the front loop. Please drive through the loop slowly and pause at each staff member, so she can pass out her treat. Students will have to stay in the car and wear masks. They can have a basket or bag to collect the treats. To ease traffic in our neighborhood, we have divided up students’ into Trick- or-Treat time based on last names: A-E -2:30-3:00; F-L: 3:00-3:30, M-Z: 3:30-4:00. Please do your best to come during your scheduled time. We look forward to seeing you and your children!

Hurry now, Don’t delay!!! Monair’s PTA holiday wreath fundraiser ends November 2nd. This week during supply pick up, PTA volunteers will be in the loop taking credit card orders between 11-12 and 2-4. If you prefer ordering your wreath directly, please click on this link: https://www.wreathsformontair.com/ Thank you for your support!
