PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
This week is a big one for many of our kiddos as we approach Halloween. Thursday is a minimum day schedule. Please check this link for exact times.

Some things to keep in mind:
  • Parking is a challenge on a normal day at Montair. Many surrounding streets have “no parking” signs posted during school hours. With many families wishing to participate in the fun, we will need to be creative to find parking solutions. Last year, families parked at the Danville Railroad Museum parking lot at the corner of Prospect and Railroad avenue and found it to be a great solution. From there it is a quick walk down Quinterra to Montair. Click here for a map. Please do not park in the Danville Women’s Club lot. They will tow.
  • We are trying something new for the parade route this year. Instead of walking all around school in a parade, we are going to create a huge circle around the blacktop, with all of the students sitting with their grade levels. As the band plays, grade levels will be invited to stand and walk around the inside of the circle so everyone can see their costumes. After they take their lap, the next grade level will stand and repeat, until all have paraded inside the circle. The parents are going to be OUTSIDE that circle, watching the parade from the perimeter. We are planning a brief school wide assembly for HONESTY this Tuesday to try out the spacing on the blacktop. Click here to see the tentative plan.
  • The SRVHS band will join us at 8:30 to accompany the parade. Their bus will be parking along Esther in a coned off area. Please respect the cone-zone.
  • Children cannot bring weapons of any kind as part of their costume. Masks can only be worn during the parade.
  • Please do not bring your dogs to the parade, even if they have a great costume. There are just too many people on campus and the school is not open to pets during school hours.
  • Due to the sheer number of people on campus, signing in is not necessary for viewing the parade. If afterward, you are working in the class at a party, please sign in at the office before entering the classroom.

Here’s to a wonderful week of fun together!
