Message From The Principal
Dear Montair Families,

Happy October! This month brings a wealth of activity too Montair. Parent volunteers are allowed in classrooms. Leadership applications are available for interested 4th and 5th graders and are due by October 15th. Next week is conference week. We will be on a minimum day schedule all week. Our AM TK/K students attend school from 8:00-9:30, PM kindergarteners attend school from 9:50-11:20, 1st-5th graders attend school from 8:00-12:00; there is no early/late bird for 1st grade. During conferences, your teachers will have SEL surveys for you to fill out and drop off in the office. Please take a moment to share your feedback. If you prefer doing a digital survey, you can fill it out HERE.

The San Ramon Education Foundation’s 38th Annual Run for Education is this month. Please join us for the in person Health & Wellness Expo on Saturday, October 9 from 9am to 3pm and Sunday, October 10 from 10am to 2pm at BR2700, across from City Center! We have the Montair run on the Iron Horse Trail on October 16th from 9AM - 11AM. There will be staggered start times every 2 minutes. We will be giving official finish times for the 5K run. If you have questions, please Paul Grabowsky or Karen Robman.  The next day, October 17th is Montair’s Fall Carnival from 12-4pm (doors open at 11:30 for our SDC community). The Dad’s Club is sponsoring a pumpkin patch at the carnival this year! We can’t wait to see you all there!

We’ll have our Book Fair outside the library for the week of October 17-22. There will be an evening book fair on Wednesday, 10/20. We are also starting Outdoor Education preparation for our 5th graders. There is a parent information night on October 25 at 6:00 on this Zoom link: https://srvusd-net.zoom.us/j/88986749955 Meeting ID: 889 8674 9955. Please add your questions to this question document and we’ll do our best to have answers for you before our information night.

We will celebrate Halloween on October 29th. We will start with a Halloween parade at approximately 8:30. Please remember that Halloween costumes must be school appropriate. Costumes with blood, gore, and weapons should not be at school. Room parents will coordinate classroom parties this year. Please remember that we are not able to eat in classrooms, thus party activities cannot require food. Students can have goodie bags as they depart school.

October is going to be a busy month! We’re looking forward to sharing some wonderful times with you and your children.

Warm regards,

Elizabeth Lyons, Ed.D.
