This month, as we are kicking off our study of gratitude, I would be remiss if I did not take the opportunity to share my gratitude to the staff at Montair for their efforts in making last week a productive and safe experience for our kids, despite the hardship of no power. Staff members shared lanterns, covered each other’s classes, and created innovative learning opportunities for the kids. I also must share my appreciation for the parents of our community who pitched in and helped clean up, brought extra lunches, made coffee runs and trusted us with their children. It was a tough start to the week, but I left each day filled with a sense of accomplishment and gratitude for all of the support.
In keeping with our study of gratitude in both November and December, we are going to create GRATITUDE GRAFFITI boards around school where children can add notes sharing what they are grateful for. My hope is that these posters will be an interactive way to focus on all that is good in the world. Additionally, classrooms will have gratitude envelopes where students and staff will be encouraged to notice others and express their gratitude for the many actions that impact our lives. We will share these gratitude SHOUT OUTS with the kids. If you want to share what you are grateful for, please stop by a gratitude graffiti board on campus and/or, take a minute to fill out an online
SHOUT OUT
to staff at MT. I will share these notes with staff, letting them know that you notice and appreciate what they do.
Here’s to a great week of learning together!
With gratitude,
Ondi Tricaso
