As we approach the Thanksgiving break, I would be remiss to not take a moment to share my gratitude with the Montair Community. I am so appreciative of the generosity of our families. This generosity comes in the form of countless volunteer hours. We couldn’t have Breakfast Book Club, Run Club, Harvest of the Quarter, Art docents, Reflections program, Copying Center, an Auction, a Carnival, Book Fairs, Diversity and Inclusion Club, Field Trips, Family Breakfasts and so much more without the generosity of our parents and grandparents.
This generosity also comes in the form of financial donations to the school. Our parent donations allow us to have classroom paraprofessionals in every classroom for several hours per week. We can staff an intervention program to ensure that all of our kids get the intervention they need to learn in reading and math. Our teachers can attend trainings to continually grow their instructional practice to best serve our students. Our kids get to visit the library regularly, go to a super cool Makerspace during lunch, and perform in two major plays because of our parents. Thanks to parent generosity, last year, we upgraded our computer lab. The year before that, we bought new chromebooks for every 4th and 5th grader to use in the classrooms. And as you can see, we have been able to rebuild our primary playground, all thanks to our amazingly generous Montair families.
I am truly so grateful for everything you do to support the learning and the social-emotional wellbeing of our Montair students. I know I am speaking for the entire Montair staff when I say this partnership is so very appreciated!
With warm wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving break,
