PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Montair Families,

In three short weeks, we are excited to welcome over 300 students back to campus. We cannot wait to see your children’s bright eyes and feel their excitement to be back among friends! To prepare for their return, we ask that you begin teaching your children two very important school safety procedures, wearing masks and social distancing. Please begin showing them what 6 ft. social distance looks like, what to do/say if someone gets too close, and find masks that are comfortable, and stay above your child’s nose. It would be very helpful if you ask your child to wear a mask for 30 minute durations with the goal of building up to an hour and a half. This could be done while your child is working during asynchronous time. Returning to school may be different than your child is accustomed to. We know that with your cooperation and team effort, the remainder of the year will be full of new opportunities to grow and learn together, albeit 6 feet apart.

A very important component of our return to campus safety procedures is for families to comply with the  DAILY AT-HOME COVID-19 SYMPTOM ATTESTATION. Please DO NOT send your child to school if he/she has any COVID-19 symptoms. If a student does show COVID-19 symptoms, he/she will be sent home. Please be aware that if a student is sent home because of COVID-19 symptoms, we must follow the SRVUSD RETURN TO CAMPUS DECISION TREE before a child can return to campus. This includes a doctor’s note or 10 days self-quarantine at home and being 24 hours symptom free.

As we prepare for the return of our students, we look forward to your partnership and collective commitment to ensuring a positive, safe learning environment for our students and staff. Thank you for complying with the Contra Costa County Health orders, by maintaining social distance and wearing masks when on our campus during or after school hours. Recently, we have seen community members on campus forgo masks and neglect social distancing requirements. Our students and staff are precious and important to us. It is imperative that we all follow the health and safety orders to support the physical, emotional health and well-being of all Montair staff, students and community. We appreciate your assistance in keeping our students and staff healthy by adhering to Contra Costa County Health orders, especially when you are on campus.

I will be sharing additional information about our return to school plan during our Hybrid Learning Parent Information Night on Thursday, December 17th at 6:00. Please use this link below to join the meeting: https://srvusd-net.zoom.us/j/89274388541 Meeting ID: 892 7438 8541 I look forward to seeing you then!

Warm Regards,
