PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Montair Families,
Our teachers will participate in professional development on Tuesday, 12/8 and Wednesday, 12/9. Students will receive asynchronous teaching both days. Our reading and math intervention teachers will be able to hold instructional sessions and our paraeducators will be available to support students on those days. Mrs. Suffoletta has opened up the library checkout system to our kindergarten students. Now all students can check out books from the library using ourDestiny library catalog. Here are the directions forhow to put a book on hold. Finally, please be aware that our playgrounds are now closed to the public with the recent county orders that went into effect Sunday evening.
This week we will continue to prepare our campus for social distancing and put the finishing touches on the classrooms that will welcome students in January. In addition, we are finalizing our reconfigured classes to accommodate parent declarations. This is a very complex task and takes careful attention to detail to ensure students’ varying needs are met. We take many factors into place as we configure classes including students’ emotional, academic, behavioral, and learning support needs. As Dr. Malloy stated in all of his recent addresses, we will not be able to honor preferences for AM/PM cohorts. We will, however, be sure that all siblings will be in the same cohorts. If you are part of a blended family with children who have different last names, please reach out to our office, so we can be sure your children are in the same cohort. Parents will learn their child’s teacher and learning cohorts the week of December 14th.
