Message From The Principal

Dear Montair Families,

On Friday, we enjoyed a magical day of cheering our students during our Boosterthon Love Run. Our students pushed themselves to complete the goal of 30 laps. They delighted hearing their lap totals climb. One of my favorite moments was seeing a first grader’s joy when he realized he completed all 35 boxes on the lap tracker. We appreciate your support in making our Boosterthon such a wonderful experience for our students. Our Boosterthon website is open for one more week if you’d like to make a donation. The Love Run will have a special place in the Montair yearbook. If you haven’t purchased your yearbook yet, you can do so HERE.

Spring conferences will be held March 16-18. Teachers will reach out to parents to schedule a conference if there are specific areas of concerns. If you don’t hear from your child’s teacher, but would like to have a conference, you can reach out and request a conference.

We have a couple of new volunteer opportunities for Montair families. We appreciate any volunteers who are willing to help with lunch supervision at the lunch tables during our lunch time which is 11:30-12:45. We especially need help on Fridays. If you are able to help out, please sign up on THIS Sign Up Genius.

This spring we have the opportunity for three, 4th graders to participate in a Mini-Math Olympiad. If you think your child would be interested in participating, read THIS information form. Applications are due this Friday, March 4th. You can drop off your application in the front office.

When we participated in the Great Kindness Challenge, we wrote letters of appreciation to our city leaders including the mayor. Our Mayor, Newell Arnerich was incredibly touched by our students’ kind words. Mayor Arnerich came to campus last week to drop off a personalized copy of the book, Vintage Danville, 150 Years of Memories. In addition, he named our school in a Kindness Proclamation. It was very special for our students and staff to be acknowledged for the kindness they have shared with our community. The Proclamation will be framed and posted in our front office. You can read what it states below.

We hope you have a wonderful week.

Thank you to all of the Montair families who came out to cheer our kids on Friday at our Boosterthon Love Run. It was wonderful to see the students having fun while raising money for our school, and also to see the community come together to support the event. The website will be open for one last week for donations at mybooster.com. Funds raised will support all of the programs that make Montair so special. These include paraeducators, library services, a teacher on special assignment, reading and math intervention, leadership, gardening, art, and more. Thank you again for all of your support!
