Dear Montair Families,

It’s hard to believe, but it is time to begin the transition of our 5th graders from elementary to middle school. If you have a fifth grade student going to Charlotte Wood Middle School next year, be sure to attend the incoming 6th grade parent night on 3/25 from 6:30-7:30. I will share the Zoom link with families next week. Parent night for Stone Valley Middle School is on May 9th from 5:15-6:00. Mr. White, the Stone Valley Middle School principal, will present SVMS orientations for our 5th graders on 3/29 for our remote students and on 3/30 for our hybrid students.

I want to thank all families who are complying with all the safety guidelines. I want to highlight a very important element of our procedures. If anyone in your household is ill with COVID, please notify our office and then, call our Student Services Department @ 925-552-5052. Here is the Acknowledgement to Return to Campus document that outlines all our safety procedures. We have to follow up with contact tracing if deemed necessary by the county. This is very important to maintaining the well-being of our staff, students and their families. As we approach spring break, several families have reached out inquiring about protocols regarding travel. If you are traveling via airplane, it is suggested that you quarantine for 10 days upon your return. Again, thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation in following these guidelines.

Mark your calendars. The 25th annual Montair Foundation's auction opens online this Thursday, March 18th. Please bid to support Montair. We have amazing items available, including trips, gift certificates to local businesses, student art projects, teacher experiences and other fabulous one-of-a kind items. You can also purchase delicious Danville Cheese party boxes and a Locanda Ravello dinner. This Montair Foundation fundraiser is crucial for raising money for programs that benefit your children that the district does not fund, such as paraeducators, reading and math intervention, additional library services, and more. This year's auction will only be online, and so don't miss your chance to participate.

This week, also be on the lookout for our 4th and 5th grade leadership students (also a program funded by the Montair Foundation) who will be promoting the auction's Silver Linings raffle and the Fund-A-Need, Power of Paras.
