Dear Montair Families,

We are looking forward to have your children’s beautiful smiles adorn our office bulletin board with our March art project. The theme is “Lucky to be a Roadrunner” If you are a hybrid family, shamrocks will be delivered to your children’s classes. If you’re a remote family, you can print out THIS shamrock template.  Here are the directions: a) place a photo of your child in the middle of the shamrock, b) write their name under the photo, and c) list three things they like about Montair, d) color the shamrock, e) cut out the Shamrock. Return them to school--either in their material drop off on March 8th or anytime before March 15th. I’ll hang them up in our office and will Tweet a photo of everyone’s work.

We are working with Raft to release the next engineering challenge to our elementary students since the last one was so successful. The challenge will be to build a Leprechaun Trap. Here’s a link to the challenge. Students will receive the challenge in the next couple of days and there will be a kick off call on Wednesday, March 10th with Raft on for any students that need a bit of motivation to get started. Please share the photos of your child’s creations. I’d love to see how our clever students capture, Liam the Leprechaun!

We are looking to add one member to our School Site Council for the remainder of this year. Please take a look at our ballot HERE and vote for our candidate or write in a candidate you would like to elect. We will take votes until Friday, March 12th @ 11:59 p.m.

We are excited to announce this year’s Fund-a-Need program, “ "The Power of Paras: Helping Hands Helping Our Children". We fund our para-educators’ salaries through your generous donations. Please consider contributing to this very important program. As we look forward to next year, we would love to be sure our children will have the opportunity for small group and individual support guided by our expert paraeducators. To contribute to “Fund-a-Need” please visit our Montair Auction website.

We hope you have a wonderful week!

Warm regards,
Elizabeth Lyons, Ed.D.
