Dear Montair Families,

We hope you had a wonderful spring break. It’s hard to believe we are in the final stretch of our 2020-2021 school year. What an incredible journey this year has been so far. I wonder what new adventures await our last eight weeks. Here are some important events taking place this week.

This year, 2nd grade CogAT testing will be administered to students whose parents who opt in for testing. You can sign your child up to take the CogAT test on THIS form. The deadline for this was April 12th. Please sign up ASAP, if you haven’t already done so. Our 2nd graders whose families have signed up for them to take the CogAT test, will take it on Monday, May 3rd on campus.

Your child can pick up a free school lunch each day while on campus. There is no application, registration or student ID required. Meals include an entree, fruit or vegetable and milk. If your child would like a school lunch, please make sure he/she remembers to tell their teacher during lunch count. HERE is this month’s lunch menu.

The SRVUSD school board approved the creation of the SRVUSD Virtual Academy. A parent information night will be held on April 12 from 5 – 6 pm. Parents can send their questions in advance to ReopeningTogether@srvusd.net with the Subject Line: Information Night Question. Students/families will follow the current intra-district transfer process to transfer to the Virtual Academy. Commitments from families to the Academy will be required by April 20th, so that there will be time before summer break to plan for staffing.

Students who are returning to in-person learning for fall 2021 do not need to do anything further to declare their intention. Only those students who apply to the Virtual Academy will be considered for remote learning. Everyone else will be in-person. Please refer to the following resources for further information.

Have a wonderful week!

Sincerely,
Elizabeth Lyons, Ed.D.
