PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Montair Community,

This has certainly been a crazy year. From power outages to Shelter in Place, we have experienced some unique circumstances in the 2020-2021 school year. But when it is all said and done, what I will remember about Montair is the people. Our kids have been so resilient through this year's end. They missed out on many capstone experiences that bring a sense of closure and anticipation, yet they keep smiling and making the best of it. I’ve always known that the Montair staff is dedicated and caring. With recent events, I could not be more proud of their “Can Do” spirit. Their teaching continues to be innovative and heartfelt, aimed at supporting their kids where they are.

I know many parents are awaiting information about when to pick up student materials and property. I hope to have information for you in this week’s Roadrunner. Stay tuned.

With gratitude for an amazing 4 years at Montair,

Ondi Tricaso
Principal
CONGRATULATIONS to this year’s recipients of PTA HONORARY SERVICE AWARDS. These outgoing fifth grade parents have gone above and beyond in their commitment and dedication to Montair. We so appreciate all their contributions and wish them all the best in their next chapters.

Angela Frankel :  Known for her thoughtful, kind spirit and upbeat personality, Angela has held a wide variety of roles during her 11 years at Montair, including Movie Night Chair and Auction wine coordinator for several years; Foundation Secretary; Site Council Representative; Sister School Representative as well as through most field trips, art docent, and classroom parties.

Kerry Reiland:  With her infectious laugh and straight-forward demeanor, Kerry showed that she cared deeply for the community with her fascinating parent education programs as PTA VP of Parent Education, extraordinarily creative teacher and staff appreciation luncheons through the Hospitality committee, and extensive time supporting her sons’ classrooms.

Robin Clark :  As an amazing organizer with an incredibly bubbly personality, Robin has brought so much fun and creativity to Montair with her Amazing Race leadership, founding of our fabulous Harvest of the Month program, time as Health and Wellness Chair, and dedication to Pledge to Humanity.

Shannon Mundelius :  With her can-do spirit and big heart, Shannon supported Montair in an extensive variety of roles during her 13 years as a parent here, including Foundation President, Treasurer and Auditor; Parcel Tax Oversight Committee Member; Site Council Representative for two terms; and Technology Committee Member as well as through various PTA, Auction and Foundation committees and events. Fortunately, she will continue to be on campus as a very effective Reading Interventionist.

and last but certainly not least THANK YOU to our retiring principal...

Ondi Tricaso : Ondi started at Montair 4 years ago and hit the ground running. She has been an advocate for our school implementing programs and spearheading initiatives that improved the way our kids are learning and growing. Since she’s been here, our playgrounds have seen upgrades, our campus buildings have been improved, our reading intervention program has been replaced, our teachers have enjoyed more professional development opportunities, and our community has become stronger together through her collaboration with our Foundation and PTA units.
