Dear Montair Families,
It was so wonderful to see students and families during the donut drive through on Friday. Your smiles and happy faces fuel our commitment to you and your children. During the early weeks of remote learning, our teachers are working hard to find the balance between rigor, screen time, and social emotional well being. Thank you for reaching out and offering your support and feedback on how remote learning is impacting your child’s learning. The SRVUSD will be sending out a remote learning survey this week. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to provide feedback on remote learning.
We will have another material pick on this Thursday and Friday, 9/3 & 9/4. Your child’s teacher will notify you whether she will have materials out for pick up. If your child’s teacher has materials for pick up, they will be out on designated tables by 8:00 a.m. You can come by at any time and pick up materials. If you come when there is no staff in the loop to help, please park, wear a mask and find your child’s materials. We will have staff outside helping from 2:00-4:00.
Students who love math and enjoy solving complex math problems are invited to join the Math Olympiad Team. HERE is the program information overview and registration. Please place completed applications and donations in the basket on the table in front of the office by the end of day Friday, September 4th. We are looking for a parent representative for the SRVUSD Culture and Climate Committee. If you are interested in participating, please read more HERE. Please remember to call the attendance office when your child is absent. We are following state guidelines for student attendance this year.
I want to acknowledge the commitment families must have in order to make remote learning work. We cannot deliver an effective instructional program without your engagement and support. Please reach out to your child’s teacher or myself if you have questions or concerns. We are a team and together we can overcome obstacles and triumph through this time. I feel blessed to part of such a collaborative and engaged community.
Warm Regards,
Elizabeth Lyons
Principal
