Dear Montair Families,
It has been a joy for me to visit the students in our Kids’ Country program. I love having the chance to connect with our students. They are a small but mighty bunch. It makes my heart happy to see the children engaging in their remote learning classes and playing with one another at recess and lunch. Their smiles are contagious and keep me motivated in our remote setting.
We are entering the fifth full week of school. Our teachers have shared that they are beginning to feel like there is a rhythm to their days. It takes time to understand their students’ needs and skill levels. Across a grade level, the teachers' curricular objectives will be very similar, but not necessarily the same week-to-week. Teachers continually refine their instructional program to address new information based on student work and assessment results.
Please reach out to your child’s teacher directly if there is information she should know or be aware of as we delve into the rigor of the school year. Our teachers are caring, committed professionals who welcome your insight. Schooling is most successful when there is clear communication focused on supporting your child’s learning and well-being. We value your partnership!
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Lyons, Ed.D.
