Message From The Principal

Dear Montair Families,
We want to thank our families for your generous donations to the Montair Foundation. We have already put many of your donation dollars to good use. We hired paraeducators, so all teachers have para time which allows for them to work in small groups or one-on-one with students. We also have provided grade level release days for our teachers to analyze student data, cluster students into focused instructional groups, and plan for intervention and enrichment. Our art Instructional Assistant is presenting lessons to TK, K, 4th, & 5th grade classes, Leslie Graham has begun gardening activities with our K-2 students, and Mrs. Suffoletta is checking out books to all of our students. Thank you again for your generosity.
We had our first two, positive COVID cases last week. We held a parent information meeting on Thursday, 9/2 to review the procedures we implement when we have a positive case. HERE is the presentation I shared during the meeting. Please review it at your convenience and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
PTA is sponsoring movie night which will show Toy Story 4 under the stars Friday, September 10th from 7:00-9:30 on our blacktop. We hope to see you there. PTA reminds us that you can still join PTA HERE. They also encourage you to purchase your yearbook HERE. We will have our school carnival on October 17th. We are looking for volunteers to help us make it as fun and safe as possible. If you are interested in helping out, please reach out to Alex Sullivan, our PTA president (alexandrasullivan28@gmail.com)
Our teachers will be administering the SRVUSD fall Social-Emotional Well Being questionnaire this week. I sent out a letter to the community on 9/5/21 detailing information about this survey. If you did not have a chance to review the letter, you can read it HERE.
We hope your family enjoyed the Labor Day weekend and were able to relax and have some downtime.
Kind Regards,
Elizabeth Lyons, Ed.D.
