Montco on the Go

October 2023

Montco on the Go is an email exclusively for employees of Montgomery County. This monthly newsletter will share important information about you and your colleagues' successes, benefit information, reminders and more.

Our county's open enrollment period for employee benefits began Wednesday Oct. 18 and will remain open through Nov. 7.

This is your annual opportunity to review and make changes your health plans, add or drop dependents, start a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), add or increase supplemental life insurance or enroll in the voluntary benefit programs or learn more about the 457b plan.

During the enrollment period, keep a close eye on your employee email for updates from HR containing detailed information, decision support resources and more to ensure you have the info you need to make the best choices for you and your family.

Help shape the future of Montco's DEI vision

We need your feedback!

The Racial Equity Action Plan (REAP) Steering Committee and subcommittees are in the final stages of developing a strategic plan that will help guide our vision and work over the next several years. This Racial Equity Action Plan will help us prioritize our actions to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the County.

We are asking all employees to review the draft Racial Equity Action Plan, and take a few minutes to provide feedback. The information collected through this short survey will be instrumental as we finalize this strategic plan.

The feedback form will close on Oct. 31, 2023 at 11:59 p.m.

Questions can be directed to Donna L. Richemond, Chief of DEI, [email protected] or ext. 1499.

Supporting our own: Payroll collection update

Over the summer, employees were asked to support one of our own during an unimaginably difficult time and, as you always do, you came through!

When Emilie (Davis) Runyan and her family lost their home and possessions in a fire, employees were given the opportunity to donate to the family's rebuilding efforts via a payroll deduction.

By the time the final donations had rolled in, $3,633 had been raised in support of the Runyan family.

Thanks to those who were able to contribute!

Volunteers needed on Election Day!

With Election Day (Tuesday, Nov. 7) fast approaching, our Voter Services team needs volunteers!

They are in need of County employees to work in a variety of roles in the Voter Services Warehouse and Mail Ballot Center (canvassing).

Please note that training is required for some roles and that this call for help only applies to County employees. Members of the public are welcome to volunteer, but must follow a separate process to do so.
