Greetings!

February has almost exited the building...but just before then, our Monterey Public Library Friends & Foundation will be hosting their big fundraiser to raise money for the library. This makes me think of the contributions by volunteers and donors throughout the community. I appreciate all of the hard work that our Friends & Foundation do for the library to increase the services that we can provide to the community. Through their efforts we have had successful Monterey County Gives campaigns, author talks, book sales, little free libraries throughout the community, and other special activities to raise awareness of the library.

Kudos to the all of the volunteers throughout the Monterey Peninsula who make this a great place to live. Our library volunteers work to make sure that your hold requests are pulled from the shelves, books are organized & tidy, archival documents are scanned & cataloged, and that programs are friendly and welcoming. So no matter if you volunteer here at the Library or somewhere else in the community - thank you - for making the Monterey Peninsula a better place for all of us.

Warmly~

Brian
