Greetings!

Tomorrow is the start of Food for Fines at the Monterey Public Library. Throughout the month of December, bring in non-perishable food donations to Monterey or Pacific Grove libraries and we will waive any overdue late fees on your account* Just let the staff know that you are bringing in "Food for Fines" and show your library card. Food received will be given to the Food Bank for Monterey County and distributed to people in need throughout Monterey County. You are welcome to bring in food to donate even if you don't have library fines!

Food banks often receive the largest amount of donations around this time of year - but note that hunger is year-round! Forty percent of Monterey County residents are food insecure. Find out more about how you can donate, volunteer, or access food resources through the Food Bank for Monterey County website.

On this last day of "National Gratitude Month" - thank you all for being library members & supporting access to information and healthy communities!

*fines waived exclude lost or damaged items!! Please avoid bringing in glass or expired items.

Warmly~
Brian
