Welcome New Year!

We are excited for what 2023 will bring us and what the library can provide for you. I'm excited that we received multiple grants that will support our library services this coming year. Through California State Library and California Revealed, we will have a digital collection of select photos from our 1949 Rey Ruppel - Monterey Centennial collection. This is just a sample of our vast photo collection in the California History Room. Building out our digital presence will allow people to see why our library and community is special as well as make our resources more accessible. Through the California State Library and private donations, we will be able to replace our Bookmobile with a new vehicle this fall! We also received a substantial grant through from Black Gold Library Consortium to create an age zero through five Early Learning Hub here at the library. Both this grant and the Friends & Foundation MCGives campaign will allow us to make visible changes to the children's area. We are here to provide a welcoming environment for everyone in our community and I appreciate all of the staff, volunteers, and community support that makes the magic of libraries happen.
Cheers to a wonderful 2023! - Brian
