Greetings!

Did you know that Monterey is known as the "Language Capital of the World"?

If you haven't seen it yet, we added Mango Languages to our free eResources at the Library. With this you can use your computer or app to learn a new language or ESL. The site also has "Little Pim" designed to help our little ones learn a new language as well. There are over 70 languages available for you to learn.

What else can you learn from home with your library card?

The library also has "HelpNow" through the eResources to help with tutoring resources for teens and adults from 10am to 10pm. This service allows us to provide remote homework assistance or help with writing skills with your library card.

We have access to historic Monterey newspapers, more recent articles on Newsbank, along with free access to the New York Times.

You can find curated history and science information through Gale or ProQuest. Start your journey on being a trivia champ today!

You can expand your digital book collection through Libby, Cloud Library, and the Palace Apps...and read a variety of magazines through Flipster. Expand your knowledge, download a great audiobook, or find something that will entertain you.

Life is about continuous learning! What will inspire you today?

Warmly~

Brian

TABLE FOR TWO REMINDER

Table for Two, by NY Times bestselling author’s Amor Twoles, is another literary gem! Both a collection of short stories and a novella, Twoles captures the emotions of modern marriage, the fluctuations of the male ego, and the strength of human connection and compromise. Set in NYC at the turn of the millennium, these fictional short stories bring twists of wit and satire, perfect for the Book Flight Book Club.

In celebration of Pi Day, MPL is hosting a special screening of the documentary “Counted Out,” which emphasizes the role and foundation mathematics plays in democracy,

economics, social inequality, and politics.
